• Derivation of relativistic Yakubovsky equations under Poincaré invariance

  Relativistic Faddeev-Yakubovsky four-nucleon scattering equations are derived including a 3-body force. We present these equations in the momentum space representation. The quadratic integral equations using the iteration method, in order to obtain boosted potentials and 3-body force, are demonstrated.

• A higher-order topological twist on cold-atom SO($5$) Dirac fields

  Ultracold Fermi gases of spin-3/2 atoms provide a clean platform to realise SO($5$) models of 4-Fermi interactions in the laboratory. By confining the atoms in a two-dimensional Raman lattice, we show how this system can be used as a flexible quantum simulator of Dirac quantum field theories (QFTs) that combine Gross-Neveu and Thirring interactions with a higher-order topological twist. We show that the lattice model corresponds to a regularization of this QFT with an anisotropic twisted Wilson mass. This allows us to access higher-order topological states protected by a discrete SO($5$) group, a remnant of the continuous rotational symmetry of the 4-Fermi interactions that is not explicitly broken by the lattice discretization. Using large-$N$ methods, we show that the 4-Fermi interactions lead to a rich phase diagram with various competing fermion condensates. Our work opens a route for the implementation of correlated higher-order topological states with tunable interactions that has interesting connections to non-trivial relativistic QFTs of Dirac fermions in $D=2+1$ dimensions.

• Impact of uncertainties of unbound 10Li on the ground state of two-neutron halo 11Li

  Recently, the energy spectrum of 10Li was measured upto 4.6 MeV, via one-neutron transfer reaction d(9Li, p)10Li. Considering the ambiguities on the 10Li continuum spectrum with reference to new data, we report the con guration mixing in the ground state of the two-neutron halo nucleus 11Li for two different choices of the 9Li+n potential. For the present study, we employ a three-body (core+n+n) structure model developed for describing the two-neutron halo system by explicit coupling of unbound continuum states of the subsystem (core+n), and discuss the two-neutron correlations in the ground state of 11Li.

• Ergodic Archimedean dimers

  We study perfect matchings, or close-packed dimer coverings, of finite sections of the eleven Archimedean lattices and give a constructive proof showing that any two perfect matchings can be transformed into each other using small sets of local ring-exchange moves. This result has direct consequences for formulating quantum dimer models with a resonating valence bond ground state, i.e., a superposition of all dimer coverings compatible with the boundary conditions. On five of the composite Archimedean lattices we supplement the sufficiency proof with translationally invariant reference configurations that prove the strict necessity of the sufficient terms with respect to ergodicity. We provide examples of and discuss frustration-free deformations of the quantum dimer models on two tripartite lattices.

  The Space Star Anomaly in proton-deuteron breakup cross-section occurs at energies of about 10 MeV. Data for higher energies are sparse. Therefore, a systematic scan over star configurations in the range of intermediate energies between 50 and 100 MeV/nucleon is carried out on the basis of data collected with the large acceptance BINA detector. The preliminary cross section results for forward star configurations at 80 MeV/nucleon slightly surpass the theoretical calculations, but the systematic uncertainties are still under study. Also, a new variable describing rotation of star configurations is proposed.

• THz higher-order topological photonics in Ge-on-Si heterostructures

  We design germanium-based higher-order topological cavities for terahertz applications by breaking the symmetry of a two-dimensional photonic crystal following the Su-Schrieffer-Heeger model. Calculations demonstrate the parity inversion of the electric field in differently deformed unit cells. The interface between domains of opposite topology presents edge and corner modes. The former are chiral, locking light propagation to its helicity. The latter prove that Ge-based structures can be used as high-order topological photonic crystals. These findings can accelerate the development of Si-photonic components working in a spectral range of high technological interest.

• Muons in showers with energy $\boldsymbol{E_{0} \geq}$ 5 EeV and QGSjetII-04 and EPOS LHC models of hadronic interactions. Is there a muon deficit in the models?

  The paper presents data on the muon component with a threshold $\varepsilon_{thr} ≥$ 1 GeV. Air showers were registered at the Yakutsk array during almost 50 years of continuous air shower observations. The characteristics of muons are compared with calculations of QGSjetII-04 and EPOS LHC models for a proton and an iron nucleus. There is a muon deficit in the models, at energies greater than 5 EeV. To make an agreement between experimental data and simulations on muons, further tuning of the models is required.

• Precision magnetometry exploiting excited state quantum phase transitions

  Critical behaviour in phase transitions is a resource for enhanced precision metrology. The reason is that the function, known as Fisher information, is superextensive at critical points, and, at the same time, quantifies performances of metrological protocols. Therefore, preparing metrological probes at phase transitions provides enhanced precision in measuring the transition control parameter. We focus on the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model that exhibits excited state quantum phase transitions at different magnetic fields. Resting on the model spectral properties, we show broad peaks of the Fisher information, and propose efficient schemes for precision magnetometry. The Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model was first introduced for superconductivity and for nuclear systems, and recently realised in several condensed matter platforms. The above metrological schemes can be also exploited to measure microscopic properties of systems able to simulate the Lipkin-Meshkov-Glick model.

• Spectral solutions for the Schrödinger equation with a regular singularity

  We propose a modification in the Bethe-like ansatz to reproduce the hydrogen atom spectrum and the wave functions. Such a proposal provided a clue to attempt the exact quantization condition (EQC) for the quantum periods associated with potentials $V(x)$ which are of the form $(V(x) = |x| + a/|x| + b/|x|^2 )$. We validate the EQC proposal by showing that our computed Voros spectrum in the limit $a,b → 0$ is matching well with the true spectrum of the familiar $|x|$ potential. Thus we have given a route to obtain the spectral solution for the one dimensional Schrödinger equation involving potentials with regular singularity at the origin.
