Abstract

Black hole (BH) non-thermal and quantum properties are analysed. On one hand, an intriguing formula which connects the non-thermal probability of emission of Parikh and Wilczek for Hawking radiation with a Bekenstein-like BH mass-energy spectrum is found. As a consequence, Hawking radiation becomes directly linked to the BH discrete quantum states, to the entropy quantum and to the area quantization. Such ordering and sequencing Hawking radiation have important implications for the BH information paradox. On the other hand, the physical meaning of “thermal” and “non-thermal” character of Hawking radiation in the framework of quantum BHs is discussed and clarified.
