• $tW$ and $tZ'$ production at hadron colliders

  We present theoretical results with soft-gluon corrections for two separate processes: (1) the production of a single top quark in association with a $W$ boson in the Standard Model; and (2) the production of a single top quark in association with a heavy $Z'$ boson in new physics models with or without anomalous couplings. We show that the higher-order corrections from soft-gluon emission are dominant for a wide range of collider energies. Results are shown for the total cross sections and top-quark transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions for $tW$ and $tZ'$ production at LHC and future collider energies up to 100 TeV. The uncertainties from scale dependence and parton distribution functions are also analyzed.

• Intermittency analysis in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

  Local density fluctuations near the QCD critical point can be probed by an intermittency analysis of power-law behavior on scaled factorial moments in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We study the second-order scaled factorial moment in Au + Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 7.7-200 GeV from the UrQMD model. Since the background subtraction and efficiency correction are two important aspects in this measurement, we propose a cumulative variable method to remove background contribution and a cell-by-cell method for efficiency correction in the intermittency analysis.

• Probing hadronic interaction models with the hybrid data of the Pierre Auger Observatory

  Presently large systematic uncertainties remain in the description of hadronic interactions at ultra-high energies and a fully consistent description of air-shower experimental data is yet to be reached. The amount of data collected by the Pierre Auger Observatory using simultaneously the fluorescence and surface detectors in the energy range 10$^{18.5}$ -10$^{19.0}$ eV has provided opportunity to perform a multi-parameter test of model predictions. We apply a global method to simultaneously fit the mass composition of cosmic rays and adjustments to the simulated depth of shower maximum, and hadronic signal at ground level. The best description of the hybrid data is obtained for a deeper scale of simulated depth of shower maximum than predicted by hadronic interaction models tuned to the LHC data. Consequently, the deficit of the simulated hadronic signal at ground level, dominated by muons, is alleviated with respect to the unmodified hadronic interaction models. Because of the size of the adjustments to simulated depth of shower maximum and hadronic signal and the large number of events in the sample, the statistical significance of these assumed adjustments is large, greater than 5$\sigma_{stat}$, even for the combination of the systematic experimental shifts within 1$\sigma_{sys}$ that are the most favorable for the models.

• Anomalous coupling studies with intact protons at the LHC

  We describe the reaches on quartic $\gamma \gamma \gamma \gamma$, $\gamma \gamma WW$, $\gamma \gamma ZZ$, $\gamma \gamma \gamma Z$, $\gamma \gamma t \bar{t}$ anomalous couplings at the LHC using intact protons in the final state measured in AFP in ATLAS or PPS in CMS-TOTEM.

• High field magnetism of the triangular lattice antiferromagnet CsFeCl$_3$ under high pressure

  Magnetization measurements of the triangular lattice antiferromagnet CsFeCl$_{3}$ at 1.4 K for $H \parallel c$ were performed in pulsed high magnetic fields of up to 51 T under high pressures of up to 0.80 GPa. At ambient pressure, the magnetization below $H_{\rm c1}$ = 4 T is small, and then it changes steeply between $H_{\rm c1}$ and $H_{\rm c2}$ = 12 T, followed by a gradual increase in magnetization up to $H_{\rm m}$ = 33 T where a two-step metamagnetic transition occurs. With increasing pressure, the $H_{\rm c1}$ and $H_{\rm m}$ shifted to the low-field side, while the $H_{\rm c2}$ shifted to the opposite side. The change in $H_{\rm m}$ may depend on the difference in the single-ion anisotropies on pressure in the lowest $J$ = 1 and the excited $J$ = 2 states.

• Can $\overline{MS}$ parton distributions be negative?

  We review our recent paper, where we proved Parton distributions functions (PDFs) to be positive at NLO in the $\overline{MS}$ factorization scheme. We present some additional material that was useful in completing the steps for the actual proof, but we won't attempt to report on the full proof, but referring the reader to the paper itself.

• Measurement of charged-particle production in single diffractive proton-proton collisions with the STAR detector

  We present results on the inclusive and identified (pion, kaon, proton and their antiparticles) charged-particle production in single diffractive (SD) dissociation process in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}=200$ GeV with the STAR detector at RHIC. The forward-scattered proton is measured in the Roman Pot (RP) system, while the charged particle tracks are reconstructed in the STAR Time Projection Chamber. The proton-antiproton production asymmetry is measured to study the baryon number transfer over a large rapidity interval in SD process. In addition, $K/\pi$ ratio is measured, showing a larger strangeness production at $p_T>0.5$ GeV/$\mathit{c}$ compared to measurements in inclusive proton-proton collisions.

• A model for $F_L$ structure function at low values of $Q^2$ and $x$ - revisited

  A reanalysis of the model for the longitudinal structure function $F_L (x,Q^2)$ at low $x$ and low $Q^2$ was undertaken, in view of the advent of the EIC. The model includes the kinematic constraint $F_L\sim Q^4$ as $Q^2\rightarrow$ 0. It is based on the photon-gluon fusion mechanism suitably extrapolated to the region of low $Q^2$. Revised model was critically updated, extended to the EIC kinematic region, and e.g. contains new parameterisations of the parton distribution functions.

• Amplitude and colour evolution

  Colour evolution and parton branching at the amplitude level have become important theoretical frameworks to improve parton showers, and are algorithms in their own right: They complement shower development by resummation algorithms capable of including interference effects and subleading colour contributions at an unprecedented level. I summarize recent development in the field, focusing on soft gluon evolution, hadronization, and the CVolver framework.
