CERN and SciPost to collaborate on Open Access innovation

Significant news from the high-energy physics community: CERN and SciPost have just signed an agreement to collaborate to foster innovation in Open Access publishing.
CERN and its partners have long been a significant driving force in providing their community with infrastructures to publish and retrieve information, in particular through the SCOAP3 and INSPIRE initiatives. It is exactly in the same community-driven spirit that SciPost was founded and is currently being developed.
Thanks to this agreement, CERN will cover all SciPost expenses in publishing Open Access (under a CC-BY license) any articles from CERN-affiliated authors which successfully pass SciPost’s strict “peer-witnessed” refereeing process. CERN and SciPost will also cooperate to facilitate article discovery and linking within the existing INSPIRE infrastructure. Furthermore, CERN and SciPost will regularly collaborate in all areas relating to Open Access publishing, business models, technology and policy.
CERN thereby joins the growing list of research institutions and universities which support SciPost through its Supporting Partners Board.
SciPost looks forward to a bright future at the service of the high-energy community, and in good CERN company.
EPFL Lausanne and TU Dortmund join the SciPost Supporting Partners Board

SciPost is very happy to welcome the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne and the Technische Universität Dortmund to its Supporting Partners Board.
These latest additions provide further evidence that sustainability of the SciPost initiative can indeed be guaranteed through its cost-slashing consortial funding model. We thank these institutions and their researchers for their support.
Max Planck Digital Library joins the SciPost Supporting Partners Board

U. of Amsterdam Library joins the Supporting Partners Board

This latest commitment to SciPost’s cost-slashing consortial funding model represents one further step towards sustainability for our cost-slashing publishing infrastructure, which does not rely on inflated subscription or article processing charges.
SciPost joins the Initiative for Open Citations

As part of its commitment to transforming scientific publishing in all its facets, SciPost is proud to join and support the Initiative for Open Citations (I4OC), which is a collaboration between scholarly publishers, researchers, and other interested parties to promote the unrestricted availability of scholarly citation data.
The idea is simple but powerful: through Crossref, citation metadata of participating publishers is made publicly available, and its reuse authorized. This opens the door to the development of a new generation of metrics engines and metadata aggregators with the potential to modernize the way impact evaluation is performed.

We are delighted to announce that SciPost Physics has been accepted for coverage in the Emerging Sources Citation Index (ESCI), part of the Core Collection of the Web of Science.
Clarivate Analytics, who now manage WoS, have informed us that the Journal's content will appear in the database later this year. Coverage will begin with journal content published in 2017, with back issues to be covered later on.
This important development demonstrates that SciPost is quickly establishing itself as the publisher-of-choice for top science in this day and age of publishing reform.
SciPost Physics awarded the DOAJ Seal

We are delighted to announce that the Directory of Open Access Journals has awarded SciPost Physics the DOAJ Seal, which is a mark of certification for open access journals that achieve a high level of openness, adhere to Best Practice and high publishing standards.
This Seal certifies that SciPost Physics complies with a number of conditions including:
- permanent archival arrangement in CLOCKSS
- permanent DOI identifiers registered at Crossref for all published content
- article-level metadata deposited at DOAJ
- embedded machine-readable CC licensing information in article-level metadata
- reuse and mixing of content allowed in accordance to Creative Commons licenses
- authors allowed to hold copyright without restriction
As an additional service, SciPost also takes care of linking all funding information provided by authors to the funders registered in the FundRef registry (with metadata deposited through Crossmark), enabling funders to easily assess where and by whom their funds are being put to efficient use.
The Seal provides recognition that SciPost Physics meets and even surpasses the standards applied in many commonly-used journals. Do your habitual publication venues live up to such high expectations? If not, consider switching to SciPost!
SciPost now fully integrated with Crossmark and FundRef

As part of our mission to provide the best publishing facilities available, we are very proud to announce that SciPost has completed the integration of Crossmark and FundRef in its workflow.
In brief, this means two important things:
- a publication's status and metadata can be viewed by clicking on the "Check for updates" logos on publication webpages and pdf (both embedding all this information in machine-readable form)
- all funding info provided by authors is linked via the FundRef registry, and deposited through Crossmark.
All our publications (including those in our back-catalogue) now thus benefit from the most modern update certification and metadata handling available in the industry. Readers can always ascertain whether they are directed to the most recent information. Authors can rest assured that their funding acknowledgements are echoed back to the granting bodies. Funders can easily assess where and by whom their funds are being put to efficient use. Read more about Crossmark
U. van Amsterdam/Institute of Physics becomes Supporting Partner

SciPost is very happy to announce that the University of Amsterdam, via its Institute of Physics, has become a Supporting Partner and provided a generous €10 000 contribution to help finance our activities. Based on current estimates, this is sufficient to cover the whole submission and publication process for more than 30 articles.
SciPost is extremely thankful for these crucial funds, which we hope will inspire other beneficiaries of our activities to also back our cost-slashing funding model and join our Supporting Partners Board.
SciPost Physics linked in Google Scholar

We are extremely pleased to announce that Google Scholar now provides indexing and direct linking to publications in SciPost Physics.
New papers are now seamlessly included in the index shortly after publication. Early publications from Volume 1 will be included and directly linked at the next index rebuild by Google later this year (they are currently linked through their arXiv identifier).
With this, SciPost reaches a major milestone in graduating to a fully mature publishing entity. We wish our pioneering and future authors all the citations and recognition they deserve.
