• Muonium-Antimuonium Conversion

  The MACS experiment performed at PSI in the 1990s provided an yet unchallenged upper bound on the probability for a spontaneous conversion of the muonium atom, ${\rm M=}$($\rm{\mu^+e^-}$) , into its antiatom, antimuonium ${\overline{\rm{M}} = }$($\rm{\mu^-e^+})$. It comprises the culmination of a series of measurements at various accelerator laboratories worldwide. The experimental limits on the process have provided input and steering for the further development of a variety of theoretical models beyond the standard theory, in particular for models which address lepton number violating processes and matter-antimatter oscillations. Several models beyond the standard theory could be strongly disfavored. There is interest in a new measurement and improved sensitivity could be reached by exploiting the time evolution of the conversion process, e.g., at intense pulsed muonium sources.

• Direct searches of dark matter with the SABRE South experiment

  The SABRE (Sodium-iodide with Active Background REjection) South experiment is a direct dark matter detector, made of radio-pure NaI(Tl) crystals surrounded by a liquid scintillator veto. The achievement of ultra-low background rate is essential to provide a model independent test of the signal observed by the DAMA/LIBRA experiment whose claim has not been verified yet. The SABRE South experiment will be located at the Stawell Underground Physics Laboratory (SUPL), Australia, the first deep underground laboratory in the Southern Hemisphere. The laboratory will not only house rare event physics searches but also measurement facilities to support low background physics experiments and applications like radiobiology and quantum computing. The SABRE South detector commissioning is expected to occur in 2023. This paper details the setup and projections for the experiment, and a brief description of the underground laboratory.

• Measurement of the $\textit{CP}$ structure of the Higgs-tau Yukawa coupling

  The CMS experiment at the LHC has performed the first measurement of the CP structure of the Yukawa coupling between the Higgs boson and tau leptons. The measurement is based on data collected in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV during 2016-18, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of $137\text{ fb}^{-1}$. The analysis utilizes the angular correlation between the decay planes of tau leptons produced in Higgs boson decays, where dedicated analysis techniques are used to optimise the reconstruction of tau decay planes. The measured value of the CP mixing angle is $4\pm17^{\circ}$, at $68\%$ confidence level. The pure $\textit{CP-}$odd hypothesis is excluded by $3.2$ standard deviations. The analysis strategies and the results of the measurement are presented.

• Theory Status - Puzzles in B Meson Decays and LFU?

  Currently B meson puzzles motivate many studies of New Physics due to the observed deviations from the Standard Model predictions. There are two B meson puzzles, RD(∗) and RK(∗). The first one denotes the deviations in the decays driven by the charged current in the ratio of the decay widths for B → D(∗)τν and B → D(∗)μν, while the second one is related to the ratio of the decay widths for B → K (∗) μ+ μ− and B → K (∗) e+ e− transition. Also, the measured muon anomalous magnetic moment differs from the SM predictions. Usually, the effective Lagrangian approach containing New Physics effects is used to analyse RD(∗) and RK(∗). Among many models of New Physics, various leptoquark models are suggested to resolve both B meson anomalies. If New Physics is confirmed in B decays a number of processes at low and high energies should confirm its presence.

• Two-loop gauge coupling $β$-function in a four-dimensional framework: the Standard Model case

  At present, the gauge coupling $\beta$-function in the Standard Model (SM) is known up to four-loop order. As most SM calculations, dimensional regularization was employed. Despite its striking success, other regularization schemes have emerged, which aim to stay in the physical dimension as far as possible. In this contribution, we apply Implicit Regularization, a scheme defined in momentum space that complies with BPHZ, to obtain the two-loop gauge coupling $\beta$-function in the Standard Model. We reproduce the same result obtained when applying dimensional regularization.

• Mulan: a part-per-million measurement of the muon lifetime and determination of the Fermi constant

  The part-per-million measurement of the positive muon lifetime and determination of the Fermi constant by the MuLan experiment at the Paul Scherrer Institute is reviewed. The experiment used an innovative, time-structured, surface muon beam and a near-4π, finely-segmented, plastic scintillator positron detector. Two in-vacuum muon stopping targets were used: a ferromagnetic foil with a large internal magnetic field, and a quartz crystal in a moderate external magnetic field. The experiment acquired a dataset of 1.6e12 positive muon decays and obtained a muon lifetime τ_µ = 2 196 980.3(2.2) ps (1.0 ppm) and Fermi constant G_F = 1.166 378 7(6) × 10−5 GeV^−2 (0.5 ppm). The thirty fold improvement in τ_µ has proven valuable for precision measurements in nuclear muon capture and the commensurate improvement in G_F has proven valuable for precision tests of the standard model.

• MEG: Muon to Electron and Gamma

  The possible existence of the muon to electron and gamma decay predicted by many new physics scenarios is investigated by stopping positive muons in a very thin target and measuring emitted photons and positrons with the best possible resolutions. Photons are measured by a 2.7 ton ultra pure liquid xenon detector while positron trajectories are measured in a specially designed gradient magnetic field by low-mass drift chambers and precisely timed by scintillation counters. A first phase of the experiment (MEG) ended in 2016, and excluded the existence of the decay with branching ratios larger than 4.2x10**(-13) (90% C.L.). This provides approximately 30 times stronger constraints on a variety of new physics models than previous experiments. In the second phase (MEG II), most of the detectors have been upgraded by adopting up-to-date technologies to improve the search sensitivity by another order of magnitude down to O(10**(-19) ). MEG II will pursue new physics beyond the Standard Model complementary to high energy collider experiments with a compatible or even higher sensitivity.

• The Mu3e experiment

  The \emph{Mu3e} experiment aims for a single event sensitivity of 2$\cdot$10$^{-15}$ on the charged lepton flavour violating $\mu^+\rightarrow e^+ e^+ e^-$ decay. The experimental apparatus, a light-weight tracker based on custom High-Voltage Monolithic Active Pixel Sensors placed in a 1~T magnetic field is currently under construction at the Paul Scherrer Institute, where it will use the full intense 10$^8$ $\mu^+$/s beam available. A final sensitivity of 1$\cdot$10$^{-16}$ is envisioned for a phase II experiment, driving the development of a new high-intensity DC muon source.

• Nucleon axial form factors from lattice QCD

  We give an overview on the evaluation of the axial and pseudoscalar form factors of the nucleon within the lattice QCD formulation. We discuss recent results obtained from the analysisofNf =2+1+1twistedmassfermiongaugeensemblesgeneratedatphysical values of the pion mass. Besides evaluating the isovector form factors, and the PCAC and Goldberger-Treiman relations, we also discuss results for the strange and charm axial form factors. We provide a comparison with other recent lattice QCD results obtained with different discretization schemes of the fermion action.

• The LHCspin project

  Broad and unexplored kinematic regions can be accessed at the LHC with fixed-target $pp$, $pA$ and $PbA$ collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\rm{NN}}}=72-115~\rm{GeV}$. The LHCb detector is a fully-instrumented forward spectrometer able to run in fixed-target mode, and currently hosts a target gas cell to take data in the upcoming Run 3. The LHCspin project aims at extending this physics program to Run 4 and to bring polarised physics at the LHC. An overview of the physics potential and a description of the LHCspin experimental setup are presented.
