• Applying machine learning methods to prediction problems of lattice observables

  We discuss the prediction of critical behavior of lattice observables in SU(2) and SU(3) gauge theories. We show that feed-forward neural network, trained on the lattice configurations of gauge fields as input data, finds correlations with the target observable, which is also true in the critical region where the neural network has not been trained. We have verified that the neural network constructs a gauge-invariant function and this property does not change over the entire range of the parameter space.

• LHC searches motivated by recent $B$-anomalies

  We discuss the physics case for the LHC motivated by the $B$-physics anomalies. After correlating semi-tauonic $B$ decays to di-tau production at the LHC, and discussing the possible models solving the $B$-anomalies, we show how existing LHC data in $\tau\bar\tau$ tails exclude most beyond the SM scenarios except for a handful of leptoquark (LQ) models. We analyze the impact of LHC searches for some of these LQ solutions using current data. In particular, we focus on the well known $U_1$ vector LQ as well as the GUT-inspired scalar LQs, $R_2$ and $S_3$. By exploiting the complementarity between di-tau searches and the lepton flavor violating decays $B\to K\mu\tau$ and $\tau\to\mu\phi$ we argue that these model can be cornered by the LHC, Belle~II and LHCb in the near future.

• Monte Carlo, fitting and Machine Learning for Tau leptons

  Status of tau lepton decay Monte Carlo generator TAUOLA, and its main recent applications are reviewed. It is underlined, that in recent efforts on development of new hadronic currents, the multi-dimensional nature of distributions of the experimental data must be taken with a great care. Studies for H to tau tau; tau to hadrons indeed demonstrate that multi-dimensional nature of distributions is important and available for evaluation of observables where tau leptons are used to constrain experimental data. For that part of the presentation, use of the TAUOLA program for phenomenology of H and Z decays at LHC is discussed, in particular in the context of the Higgs boson parity measurements with the use of Machine Learning techniques. Some additions, relevant for QED lepton pair emission and electroweak corrections are mentioned as well.

• Attenuation of cosmic-ray up-scattered dark matter

  GeV-scale dark matter particles with strong coupling to baryons evade the standard direct detection limits as they are efficiently stopped in the overburden and, consequently, are not able to reach the underground detectors. On the other hand, it has been shown that it is possible to probe this parameter space taking into account the flux of dark matter particles boosted by interactions with cosmic rays. We revisit these bounds paying particular attention to interactions of the relativistic dark matter particles in the Earth's crust. The effects of nuclear form factors, inelastic scattering and extra dependence of the cross section on transferred momentum (e.g. due to presence of light mediators) are studied and are found to be crucial for answering the question as to whether the window for GeV-scale strongly interacting dark matter is closed or not.

• Tau neutrinos in IceCube, KM3NeT and the Pierre Auger Observatory

  In 2018, the IceCube collaboration reported evidence for the identification of a blazar as an astrophysical neutrino source. That evidence is briefly summarised here before focusing on the prospects of tau neutrino physics in IceCube, both at high energies (astrophysical neutrinos) and at lower energies (atmospheric neutrino oscillations). In addition, future neutrino detectors such as KM3NeT and the IceCube Upgrade and their tau neutrino physics potential are discussed. Finally, the detection mechanism for high-energy (tau) neutrinos in the Pierre Auger Observatory and the resulting flux upper limits are presented.

• The photon content of the proton in the CT18 global analysis

  Recently, two photon PDF sets based on implementations of the LUX ansatz into the CT18 global analysis were released. In CT18lux, the photon PDF is calculated directly using the LUX master formula for all scales, $\mu$. In an alternative realization, CT18qed, the photon PDF is initialized at the starting scale, $\mu_0$, using the LUX formulation and evolved to higher scales $\mu(>\mu_0)$ with a combined QED+QCD kernel at $\mathcal{O}(\alpha),~\mathcal{O}(\alpha\alpha_s)$ and $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^2)$. In the small-$x$ region, the photon PDF uncertainty is mainly induced by the quark and gluon PDFs, through the perturbative DIS structure functions. In comparison, the large-$x$ photon uncertainty comes from various low-energy, nonperturbative contributions, including variations of the inelastic structure functions in the resonance and continuum regions, higher-twist and target-mass corrections, and elastic electromagnetic form factors of the proton. We take the production of doubly-charged Higgs pairs, $(H^{++}H^{--})$, as an example of scenarios beyond the Standard Model to illustrate the phenomenological implications of these photon PDFs at the LHC.

• Classical boundary field theory of Jacobi sigma models by Poissonization

  In this paper, we are going to construct the classical field theory on the boundary of the embedding of $\mathbb{R} \times S^{1}$ into the manifold $M$ by the Jacobi sigma model. By applying the poissonization procedure and by generalizing the known method for Poisson sigma models, we express the fields of the model as perturbative expansions in terms of the reduced phase space of the boundary. We calculate these fields up to the second order and illustrate the procedure for contact manifolds.

• Feynman integrals for binary systems of black holes

  The initial phase of the inspiral process of a binary black-hole system can be described by perturbation theory. At the third post-Minkowskian order a two-loop double box graph, known as H-graph, contributes. In this talk we report how all master integrals of the H-graph with equal masses can be expressed up to weight four in terms of multiple polylogarithms. We also discuss techniques for the unequal mass case. The essential complication (and the focus of the talk) is the occurrence of several square roots.

• Cyclotron trap

  The cyclotron trap was developed at SIN/PSI to increase the stopping density of nega- tively charged particle beams for the formation of exotic atoms in low pressure gases. A weak focusing magnetic field, produced by superconducting solenoids, is used. Particles are injected radially through the fringe field to a moderator, which decelerates them into orbits bound by the field. Further deceleration by moderators and/or low-pressure gases leads the particles to the center of the device, where they can be stopped or eventually extracted. Experiments became feasible with this technique, such as those dealing with pionic hydrogen/deuteriumat SIN/PSI.Muonic hydrogen laser experiments also became possible with the extraction of muons from the cyclotron trap. The formation of antipro- tonic hydrogen in low pressure targets led to successful experiments at LEAR/CERN.

• Lund jet plane for Higgs tagging

  We study the boosted Higgs tagging using the Lund jet plane. The convolutional neural network is used for the Lund images data set to classify hadronically decaying Higgs from the QCD background. We consider $H\to b \bar{b}$ and $H \to gg$ decay for moderate and high Higgs transverse momentum and compare the performance with the cut based approach using the jet color ring observable. The approach using Lund plane images provides good tagging efficiency for all the cases.
