• QSpace - An open-source tensor library for Abelian and non-Abelian symmetries

  This is the documentation for the tensor library QSpace (v4.0) that provides a toolbox to exploit 'quantum symmetry spaces' in tensor network states in the quantum many-body context. QSpace permits arbitrary combinations of symmetries including the Abelian symmetries $\mathbb{Z}_n$ and $U(1)$, as well as all non-Abelian symmetries represented by the simple classical Lie algebras: $A_n$, $B_n$, $C_n$, and $D_n$, or respectively, the special unitary group SU($n$), the odd orthogonal group SO($2n+1$), the symplectic group Sp($2n$), and the even orthogonal group SO($2n$). The code (C++ embedded via the MEX interface into Matlab) is available open-source as of QSpace v4.0 on bitbucket (https://bitbucket.org/qspace4u) under the Apache 2.0 license. QSpace is designed as a bottom-up approach for non-Abelian symmetries. It starts from the defining representation and the respective Lie algebra. By explicitly computing and tabulating generalized Clebsch-Gordan coefficient tensors, QSpace is versatile in its operations across all symmetries. At the level of an application, much of the symmetry-related details are hidden within the QSpace C++ core libraries. Hence when developing tensor network algorithms with QSpace, these can be coded (nearly) as if there are no symmetries at all, despite being able to fully exploit general non-Abelian symmetries.

• Extremality as a consistency condition on subregion duality

  In JT gravity coupled to a CFT, I argue without using the path integral that the entanglement wedge of a boundary region is bounded by a quantum extremal surface (QES). For any candidate not bounded by a QES, a unitary in the complement can make reconstruction within the candidate inconsistent with boundary causality. The case without islands is a direct consequence of subregion duality, and the case with islands can also be dealt with with a stronger assumption.

• Trials factor for semi-supervised NN classifiers in searches for narrow resonances at the LHC

  To mitigate the model dependencies of searches for new narrow resonances at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), semi-supervised Neural Networks (NNs) can be used. Unlike fully supervised classifiers these models introduce an additional look-elsewhere effect in the process of optimising thresholds on the response distribution. We perform a frequentist study to quantify this effect, in the form of a trials factor. As an example, we consider simulated $Z\gamma$ data to perform narrow resonance searches using semi-supervised NN classifiers. The results from this analysis provide substantiation that the look-elsewhere effect induced by the semi-supervised NN is under control.

• NNLL-fast 2.0: Coloured sparticle production at the LHC run 3 with $\sqrt{S}$ = 13.6 TeV

  We report on updated precision predictions for total cross sections of coloured supersymmetric particle production at the LHC with a centre-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{S} = 13.6$ TeV, computed with the modern PDF4LHC21 set. The cross sections are calculated at an approximated NNLO accuracy in QCD and contain corrections from the threshold resummation of soft-gluon emission up to NNLL accuracy as well as Coulomb-gluon contributions including bound-state terms. The corrections are found to increase the cross sections and reduce the theoretical uncertainty as compared to the best available fixed-order calculations. These predictions constitute the state-of-the-art calculations and update the existing results for $\sqrt{S} = 13$ TeV. We make our new results publicly available in the version 2.0 update to the code package \textsc{NNLL-fast}.

• 2B or not 2B, a study of bottom-quark-philic semi-visible jets

  Semi-visible jets arise in strongly interacting dark sectors, resulting in jets overlapping with the missing transverse momentum direction. The implementation of semi-visible jets is done using the Pythia Hidden Valley module to mimic the QCD sector showering in so-called dark shower. In this work, only heavy flavour Standard Model quarks are considered in dark shower, resulting in a much less ambiguous collider signature of semi-visible jets compared to the democratic production of all five quark flavours in dark shower. The constraints from available searches on this signature are presented, and it is shown the signal reconstruction can be improved by using variable-radius jets. Finally a search strategy is suggested.

• Fusion of irreducible modules in the periodic Temperley–Lieb algebra

  We propose a new family $\mathsf{Y}_{k,\ell,x,y,[z,w]}$ of modules over the enlarged periodic Temperley–Lieb algebra $\mathsf{\mathcal EPTL}_N(\beta)$. These modules are built from link states with two marked points, similarly to the modules $\mathsf{X}_{k,\ell,x,y,z}$ that we constructed in a previous paper. They however differ in the way that defects connect pairwise. We analyse the decomposition of $\mathsf{Y}_{k,\ell,x,y,[z,w]}$ over the irreducible standard modules $\mathsf{W}_{k,x}$ for generic values of the parameters $z$ and $w$, and use it to deduce the fusion rules for the fusion $\mathsf{W} × \mathsf{W}$ of standard modules. These turn out to be more symmetric than those obtained previously using the modules $\mathsf{X}_{k,\ell,x,y,z}$. From the work of Graham and Lehrer, it is known that, for $\beta = -q-q^{-1}$ where $q$ is not a root of unity, there exists a set of non-generic values of the twist $y$ for which the standard module $\mathsf{W}_{\ell,y}$ is indecomposable yet reducible with two composition factors: a radical submodule $\mathsf{R}_{\ell,y}$ and a quotient module $\mathsf{Q}_{\ell,y}$. Here, we construct the fusion products $\mathsf{W}×\mathsf{R}$, $\mathsf{W}×\mathsf{Q}$ and $\mathsf{Q} × \mathsf{Q}$, and analyse their decomposition over indecomposable modules. For the fusions involving the quotient modules $\mathsf{Q}$, we find very simple results reminiscent of $\mathfrak{sl}(2)$ fusion rules. This construction with modules $\mathsf{Y}_{k,\ell,x,y,[z,w]}$ is a good lattice regularization of the operator product expansion in the underlying logarithmic bulk conformal field theory. Indeed, it fits with the correspondence between standard modules and connectivity operators, and is useful for the calculation of their correlation functions. Remarkably, we show that the fusion rules $\mathsf{W}×\mathsf{Q}$ and $\mathsf{Q}×\mathsf{Q}$ are consistent with the known fusion rules of degenerate primary fields.

• Anomalies of non-invertible symmetries in (3+1)d

  Anomalies of global symmetries are important tools for understanding the dynamics of quantum systems. We investigate anomalies of non-invertible symmetries in 3+1d using 4+1d bulk topological quantum field theories given by Abelian two-form gauge theories, with a 0-form permutation symmetry. Gauging the 0-form symmetry gives the 4+1d "inflow" symmetry topological field theory for the non-invertible symmetry. We find a two levels of anomalies: (1) the bulk may fail to have an appropriate set of loop excitations which can condense to trivialize the boundary dynamics, and (2) the "Frobenius-Schur indicator" of the non-invertible symmetry (generalizing the Frobenius-Schur indicator of 1+1d fusion categories) may be incompatible with trivial boundary dynamics. As a consequence we derive conditions for non-invertible symmetries in 3+1d to be compatible with symmetric gapped phases, and invertible gapped phases. Along the way, we see that the defects characterizing $\mathbb{Z}_{4}$ ordinary symmetry host worldvolume theories with time-reversal symmetry $\mathsf{T}$ obeying the algebra $\mathsf{T}^{2}=C$ or $\mathsf{T}^{2}=(-1)^{F}C,$ with $C$ a unitary charge conjugation symmetry. We classify the anomalies of this symmetry algebra in 2+1d and further use these ideas to construct 2+1d topological orders with non-invertible time-reversal symmetry that permutes anyons. As a concrete realization of our general discussion, we construct new lattice Hamiltonian models in 3+1d with non-invertible symmetry, and constrain their dynamics.

• SmoQyDEAC.jl: A differential evolution package for the analytic continuation of imaginary time correlation functions

  We introduce the SmoQyDEAC.jl package, a Julia implementation of the Differential Evolution Analytic Continuation (DEAC) algorithm [N. S. Nichols et al., Phys. Rev. E 106, 025312 (2022)] for analytically continuing noisy imaginary time correlation functions to the real frequency axis. Our implementation supports fermionic and bosonic correlation functions on either the imaginary time or Matsubara frequency axes, and treatment of the covariance error in the input data. This paper presents an overview of the DEAC algorithm and the features implemented in the SmoQyDEAC.jl package. It also provides detailed benchmarks of the package's output against the popular maximum entropy and stochastic analytic continuation methods. The code for this package can be downloaded from our GitHub repository at https://github.com/SmoQySuite/SmoQyDEAC.jl or installed using the Julia package manager.
