Abstract

The high-energy cosmic rays entering the Earth’s atmosphere throw light upon many different aspects of Astroparticle Physics and Particle Physics. The work presented in this symposium outlines investigative learning about these high-energy primaries based on a mini array DEASA in Agra, India. DEASA (Dayalbagh Educational Air Shower Array) consists of eight plastic scintillators each with an area of 1 square meter. This array covers an area of 260 square meters and is the first array in the northern part of our country. The real-life applications of the cosmic ray particles where the effect of cosmic rays in space has been studied and the best material has been found to protect the astronaut from the galactic cosmic rays. Poly materials were found to be the best material due to a large amount of hydrogen (H) and low atomic number (Z). It is observed that the equivalent dose is minimum (107 sieverts) for Polystyrene compared to the other materials. Finally, the high-energy muons have been studied to image nuclear caskets through muon tomography. In this study, a dry cask container containing the UO2 rods and the muon scattering has been observed.

Report

In Science, the paper is good and must be published. However, I strongly suggest the manuscript must be read by an Angloparlant or native expert in English. The author must improve the draft English. The abstract must be written more concisely and shortly, avoiding copy-paste or identical wording as in the main text. Besides, I strongly recommend the use of the active voice when the author is mentioning his own results, and check the use of past and present tense.

The reference must be uniformized in format and citation style. I suggest using the recommendations by the Journal and uniformizing the manuscript.

With these changes, the paper met the requirements to be published in this SciPost journal.

Requested changes

All my comments and suggestions are added in the attached pdf file in BOLD-FACE. I give some suggestions for the English to be considered by the author. Besides, the minor and major comments, as well as text that must be changed is highlighted in yellow and green.
