• Measurement of Transverse Spin Dependent Azimuthal Correlations of Charged Pion(s) in $p^{\uparrow} p$ Collisions at $\sqrt s = 200$ GeV at STAR

  At the leading twist, the transversity distribution function, $h^{q}_{1}(x)$, where $x$ is the longitudinal momentum fraction of the proton carried by quark $q$, encodes the transverse spin structure of the nucleon. Extraction of it is difficult because of its chiral-odd nature. In transversely polarized proton-proton collisions ($p^\uparrow p$), $h_{1}^{q}(x)$ can be coupled with another chiral-odd partner, a spin-dependent fragmentation function (FF). The resulting asymmetries in hadron(s) azimuthal correlations directly probe $h_{1}^{q}(x)$. We report the measurement of correlation asymmetries for charged pion(s) in $p^\uparrow p$, through the Collins and the Interference FF channel.

• Jets in Evolving Matter within the Opacity Expansion Approach

  In a recent study [1] we have extended the opacity expansion approach to describe jet-medium interactions including medium motion effects in the context of heavy-ion collisions. We have computed color field of the in-medium sources, including the effects of the transverse field components and the energy transfer between the medium and jet. The corresponding contributions are sub-eikonal in nature, and were previously ignored in the literature. Here we discuss how our approach can be applied to describe the medium motion effects in the context of Deep Inelastic Scattering.

• Constraining the nuclear gluon PDF with inclusive hadron production data

  The nuclear parton distribution functions (nPDFs) of gluons are known to be difficult to determine with fits of deep inelastic scattering (DIS) and Drell-Yan (DY) data alone. Therefore, the nCTEQ15 analysis of nuclear PDFs added inclusive neutral pion production data from RHIC to help in constraining the gluon. In this analysis, we present a new global analysis of nuclear PDFs based on a much larger set of single inclusive light hadron data from RHIC and the LHC. Using our new nCTEQ code (nCTEQ++) with an optimized version of INCNLO we study systematically the limitations of the theory and the impact of the fragmentation function uncertainty.

• Global Analysis of SSAs and the Impact of the EIC and SoLID on Tensor Charge Extractions

  Single transverse-spin asymmetries (SSAs) give great insight into the 3-dimensional structure of hadrons. We report on the first global QCD analysis of SSAs in semi-inclusive deep-inelastic scattering, electron-positron annihilation, Drell-Yan, and single-inclusive proton-proton collisions. One byproduct of the analysis is an extraction of the transversity function, from which the nucleon tensor charges can be computed, and we find, for the first time, agreement with lattice QCD for these quantities. Based on this analysis, we perform an impact study of future data on extractions of the nucleon tensor charges.

• Di-$\pi^0$ correlations in p+p, p+Al and p+Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}$ = 200 GeV at STAR

  The STAR Collaboration reports measurements of back-to-back azimuthal correlations of di-$\pi^0$ produced at forward pseudorapidity ($2.6<\eta<4.0$) in $p+$$p$, $p+$$\mathrm{Al}$ and $p+$$\mathrm{Au}$ collisions at a center-of-mass energy per nucleon-nucleon pair of 200 GeV. A clear suppression of the correlated away-side yields is observed in $p+$$\mathrm{Au}$ and for the first time in $p+$$\mathrm{Al}$ collisions, compared with the $p$$+$$p$ data. The enhanced suppression found in $p+$$\mathrm{Au}$ with respect to $p+$$\mathrm{Al}$ collisions exhibits the saturation scale ($Q_s^2$) dependence on the mass number~~$A$. The observed suppression of back-to-back pairs as a function of event activity and transverse momentum points to non-linear gluon dynamics arising at high parton densities.

• Study of Short-Range nuclear Correlations in light nuclei using the BeAGLE event generator

  Nuclear dynamics at short distances among nucleons is one of the most outstanding phenomena in nuclear physics. Understanding the role of QCD in generating nuclear forces is important for uncovering the underlying physics of Short-Range Correlations (SRCs). In recent years, SRCs has been observed from light to heavy nuclei using fixed target experiments at Jefferson lab via high energy electron-nucleus scattering. In this talk, I will talk about the opportunity of studying SRCs using light nuclei with collider experiments, e.g., the Electron Ion Collider (EIC). The experimental technique of studying the light nuclei can be based on exclusive processes with tagging final-state particles, in order to fully control the initial state of the target wavefunction. In particular, incoherent diffractive production of $J/\psi$ particle off deuteron will be presented. In addition, the spectral function in light nuclei has been recently modeled in the BeAGLE event generator, where the decay kinematics of the light nuclei and their influence on the very forward detector design at the EIC will be discussed.

• Impact of W and Z Production Data and Compatibility of Neutrino DIS Data in Nuclear Parton Distribution Functions

  Vector boson production and neutrino deep-inelastic scattering (DIS) data are crucial for constraining the strange quark parton distribution function (PDF) and more generally for flavor decomposition in PDF extractions. We extend the nCTEQ15 nuclear PDFs (nPDFs) by adding the recent $W$ and $Z$ production data from the LHC in a global nPDF fit. The new nPDF set, referred to as nCTEQ15WZ, is used as a starting point for a follow-up study in which we assess the compatibility of neutrino DIS data with charged lepton DIS data. Specifically, we re-analyze neutrino DIS data from NuTeV, Chorus, and CDHSW, as well as dimuon data from CCFR and NuTeV. To scrutinize the level of compatibility, different kinematic regions of the neutrino data are investigated. Fits to the neutrino data alone and a preliminary global fit are performed and compared to nCTEQ15WZ.

• A spectator-model way to transverse-momentum-dependent gluon distribution functions

  We present exploratory analyses of the 3D gluon content of the proton via a study of unpolarized and polarized gluon TMDs at twist-2, calculated in a spectator model for the parent nucleon. Our approach embodies a flexible parametrization for the spectator-mass function, suited to describe both moderate and small-$x$ effects. All these studies can serve as a useful guidance in the investigation of the gluon dynamics inside nucleons and nuclei, which constitutes one of the major goals of new-generation colliding machines, as the EIC, the HL-LHC, NICA, and the FPF.

• High-energy resummation in inclusive hadroproduction of Higgs plus jet

  Using the standard Balitsky-Fadin-Kuraev-Lipatov (BFKL) approach, with partial inclusion of next-to-leading order effects, we propose the inclusive hadroproduction of a Higgs boson and of a jet, featuring large transverse momenta and well separated in rapidity, as a new channel to probe the BFKL dynamics. Predictions are presented for cross-sections and azimuthal angle correlations in different kinematics configurations for the final-state transverse momenta. We find that the large energy scales provided by the emission of a Higgs boson stabilize the BFKL series.

• Complementarity of Lepton-Charge and Forward-Backward Drell-Yan Asymmetries for Precision Electroweak Measurements and Quark Density Determinations

  We address the impact of future measurements of charged and neutral current Drell-Yan (DY) asymmetries and their combination on Parton Distribution Functions (PDFs) uncertainties. We quantify the reduction of PDF uncertainties using the QCD tool xFitter. We examine the effects of such reduced PDF errors on both Standard Model (SM) and Beyond SM (BSM) observables.
