• The $\pi^0$ mass and the first experimental verification of Coulomb de-excitation in pionic hydrogen

  The most precise value for the $\pi^0$ mass was obtained from the measurement of the mass difference $m_{\pi^-}-m_{\pi^0} = 4.593\,64(48)$\,MeV/c$^2$ in the charge exchange reaction $\pi^-$p $\rightarrow \pi^0$n at PSI. With the most precise charged pion mass value, $m_{\pi^+} = 139.570\,21(14)$\,MeV/c$^2$ and the validity of the CPT theorem ($m_{\pi^-} = m_{\pi^+}$), a value $m_{\pi^0} = 134.976\,57(50)$\,MeV/c$^2$ is obtained. The measurements also revealed, for the first time, evidence of an unexpectedly large contribution from Coulomb de-excitation states during the pionic atom cascade.

• Inclusive decays of heavy quark hybrids

  In order to understand the nature of the XYZ particles, theoretical predictions of the various XYZ decay modes are essential. In this work, we focus on the semi-inclusive decays of heavy quarkonium hybrids into traditional quarkonium in the EFT framework. We begin with weakly coupled potential NRQCD effective theory that describes systems with two heavy quarks and incorporates multipole expansions and use it to develop a Born-Oppenheimer effective theory (BOEFT) to describe the hybrids and compute the semi-inclusive decay rates. We compute both the spin-conserving and spin-flipping decay rates and find that our numerical results of the decay rates are different from the previous studies. We also develop a systematic framework in which the theoretical uncertainty can be systematically improved.

• Recent Highlights on Higgs Physics from the LHC

  Many of the Higgs boson production and decay channels, predicted by the StandardModel, have been observed since its 2012 discovery. Today, measurements of the Higgsboson’s properties in these channels deepen our understanding of the nature of thisfundamental particle by providing better information about its mass, production kine-matics, and CP structure. Increasing precision also enables targeting rare Higgs bosondecay modes and probing di-Higgs-boson production. In addition, searches for beyondStandard Model physics in the Higgs sector are performed. This article presents the lat-est Higgs boson measurement highlights from the ATLAS and CMS collaborations usingLHC proton-proton collision data at a centre of mass energy of 13 TeV.

• Measurements and searches of Higgs boson production involving fermion couplings with the ATLAS detector

  In the standard model, fermions acquire the mass via the Yukawa interaction. This mechanism can be tested by measuring couplings of the fermions with the Higgs boson. At the ATLAS experiment, the Higgs-fermion coupling measurements became possible thanks to the abundant dataset: the integrated luminosity of 139~fb$^{-1}$ at the centre-of-mass energy of 13~TeV as well as 25~fb$^{-1}$ at 7--8~TeV. This paper presents recent results from measurements of the Higgs boson productions in decays to a fermion pair in the final state with the ATLAS detector.

• Recent results from heavy ion collisions at LHCb

  LHCb is a fully instrumented spectrometer covering the forward rapidity region at the LHC, which provides unique access to the small Bjorken-x region inside the nucleus. In this contribution, a selection of recent results from the LHCb heavy-ion program are presented, including a measurement of charged hadron production in proton-proton (pp) and proton-lead (pPb) collisions, chic2/chic1 production in pPb collisions, and coherent J/psi production in peripheral and ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions. Comparisons with calculations and effects from the nuclear PDFs and dense QCD medium are discussed.

• Transverse Single-Spin Asymmetries of Midrapidity Direct Photons and Neutral Mesons at PHENIX

  Results are presented for the transverse single-spin asymmetries of direct photons, neutral pions, and eta mesons for $|\eta|<0.35$ from $p^\uparrow + p$ collisions with $\sqrt{s} = 200$ GeV at PHENIX. As hadrons, $\pi^0$ and $\eta$ mesons are sensitive to both initial- and final-state effects and at midrapidity probe the dynamics of gluons along with a mix of quark flavors. Because direct photon production does not include hadronization, the direct photon TSSA is only sensitive to initial-state effects and at midrapidity provides a clean probe of the gluon dynamics in transversely polarized protons. All three of these results will help constrain the collinear twist-3 trigluon correlation function as well as the gluon Sivers function, improving our knowledge of spin-dependent gluon dynamics in QCD.

• Transverse Single Spin Asymmetries of Heavy Flavor Electrons and Charged Pions in 200 GeV $p+p^{\uparrow}$ Collisions at Midrapidity

  Transverse single spin asymmetries of particles produced in $p+p^{\uparrow}$ collisions provide insight on the partonic spin and momentum structure of hadrons; heavy flavor electrons provide access to initial state spin-momentum correlations of gluons in the proton, while charged pions provide access to initial and final state transverse spin effects. Charged particles are measured at midrapidity at PHENIX using the silicon vertex detector and central arm spectrometer, made of an electromagnetic calorimeter, a ring-imaging Cherenkov detector, and drift and pad chambers. Recent results for both electron and charged pion measurements from the 2015 running period will be presented.

• ATLAS results on charmonium production

  An overview is given of the results on charmonium production obtained by the ATLAS collaboration at the LHC. Recent preliminary measurements covering prompt and non-prompt production of $J/\psi$ and $\psi(2S)$ states in the range of high transverse momenta from 60 to 360~GeV are highlighted.

• Hard color-singlet exchange in dijet events in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV

  We present a measurement of events with two jets separated by a pseudorapidity gap (jet-gap-jet). The signature is expected from hard color-singlet exchange. The jets are reconstructed with the CMS detector. The highest $p_\text{T}$ jets have $p_\text{T}^\text{jet1,2} > 40$ GeV, with $1.4 < |\eta^\text{jet1,2}| < 4.7$ and $\eta^\text{jet1} \eta^\text{jet2} < 0$. We measure the fraction of color-singlet exchange dijet events, $f_\text{CSE}$, and compare it to previous measurements and to predictions. We also study jet-gap-jet events where the colliding protons remain intact and are detected with the Roman pots of TOTEM. A larger fraction $f_\text{CSE}$ is found in the latter subsample.

• Charmonium and bottomonium spectroscopy at Belle II

  The Belle II experiment at the SuperKEKB energy-asymmetric e+e− collider is an upgrade of the B factory facility at KEK in Tsukuba, Japan. The experiment began operation in 2019 and aims to record a factor of 50 times more data than its predecessor. Belle II is uniquely capable of studying the so-called "XYZ" particles: heavy exotic hadrons consisting of more than three quarks. First discovered by Belle, these now number in the dozens, and represent the emergence of a new category within quantum chromodynamics. We present recent results obtained from Belle II data, and the future prospects to explore both exotic and conventional quarkonium physics.
