• Multiplicity dependence of charged-particle jet production in pp collisions at 13 TeV with ALICE

  Measurements of jet production and jet properties in pp collisions provide a test of perturbative quantum chromodynamics (pQCD) and form a baseline for similar measurements in heavy ion (A-A) collisions. In this contribution, we report recent ALICE measurements of charged-particle jet production and intra-jet properties, including mean charged-constituent multiplicity and fragmentation distribution for leading jets, in minimum bias pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV. In addition, the event multiplicity dependence of jet production and jet properties in pp collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 13 TeV will be presented. Results will be compared with theoretical model predictions.

• Production mechanisms of open heavy flavor mesons in high-multiplicity events

  In this proceeding we discuss different mechanisms of open-heavy flavor meson production which contribute to inclusive and single diffractive cross-sections. For the case of inclusive production we demonstrate that the three-Pomeron fusion is significant for the $D$-meson production in the kinematics of small transverse momenta $p_{T}$, as well as in large-multiplicity events. Its inclusion allows to improve significantly the description of experimental data. We also analyzed the diffractive production and found that due to gap survival factors it constitutes 0.5\textendash 2 per cent of the inclusive production. The expected dependence on event multiplicity in this channel is significantly milder than for inclusive case.

• Recent results from reactor antineutrino experiments

  The smallest neutrino mixing angle $\theta_{13}$ has been successfully measured by the disappearance of reactor antineutrinos at RENO, Daya Bay, and Double Chooz. The oscillation frequency is also measured based on energy and baseline dependent disappearance probability of reactor antineutrinos. Recent results fi nd a variation in the observed reactor antineutrino flux as a function of the reactor fuel evolution. We report more precisely measured values of $\theta_{13}$ and $\Delta m^2_{ee}$ and results on the evolution of observed reactor antineutrino yield and spectrum.

• The role of the underlying event in the charm-baryon enhancement observed in pp collisions at LHC energies

  We study the enhanced production of $\Lambda_c$ charmed baryons relative to that of charmed $D^0$ mesons in proton–proton collisions at LHC energies. We simulated collision events with the enhanced color-reconnection model in PYTHIA 8 MC generator and propose measurements based on the comparative use of different event-activity classifiers to identify the source of the charmed-baryon enhancement. We demonstrate that in this enhanced color-reconnection scenario the excess production is primarily linked to the underlying event and not to the production of high-momentum jets.

• Z2 topological orders in kagome dipolar systems: Feedback from Rydberg quantum simulator

  The mutual feedback between quantum condensed matter and cold atom physics has been quite fruitful throughout history and continues to inspire ongoing research. Motivated by the recent activities on the quantum simulation of topological orders among the ultracold Rydberg atom arrays, we consider the possibility of searching for topological orders among the dipolar quantum magnets and polar molecules with a kagome lattice geometry. Together with other quantum interactions such as the transverse field, the dipolar interaction endows the kagome system with a similar structure as the Balents-Fisher-Girvin model and thus fosters the emergence of the $\mathbb{Z}_2$ topological orders. We construct a $\mathbb{Z}_2$ lattice gauge theory to access the topological ordered phase and describe the spinon and vison excitations for the $\mathbb{Z}_2$ topological orders. We explain the spectroscopic consequences for various quantum phases as well as the experimental detection. We further discuss the rare-earth kagome magnets, ultracold polar molecules, and cluster Mott insulators for the physical realization.

• Centrality dependence of multistrange baryon production in high-energy heavy-ion collisions

  We consider the experimental data on the production of strange $\Lambda^{\prime}$s, and multistrange baryons ($\Xi$, $\Omega$), and antibaryons, on nuclear targets, at the energy region from SPS up to LHC, in the framework of the Quark-Gluon String Model. One remarkable result of this analysis is the significant dependence on the centrality of the collision of the experimental $\overline{\Xi}^+/\overline{\Lambda}$ and $\overline{\Omega}^+/\overline{\Lambda}$ ratios in heavy-ion collisions, at SPS energies.

• Studies of $b$-hadrons and quarkonia at LHCb

  LHCb has productive studies of quarkonia and $b$-hadrons which provide essential inputs to study quantum chromodynamics (QCD). In this proceeding, seven recent results are reported: the observation of a new excited $\Xi_b^0$ resonance in $\Xi_b^- \pi^+$ final states, the new excited $B_s^0$ state is observed in $B^+ K^-$ mass spectrum, the first observation of suppressed semileptonic $B_s^0 \rightarrow K^- \mu^+ \nu_{\mu}$ decay, the first observation of the decay $B^0 \rightarrow D^0 \bar{D}^0 K^+ \pi^-$, the first observation of the Cabibbo-suppressed decay $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow \chi_{c1} p \pi^-$, the first observation of $\Lambda_b^0 \rightarrow \Lambda_c^+ K^+ K^- \pi^-$ decay, and end this report with the first search for the doubly heavy baryon $\Omega_{bc}^{0}$ and a search for $\Xi_{bc}^0$ baryon.

• Tighter lower bounds on quantum annealing times

  We derive lower bounds on the time needed for a quantum annealer to prepare the ground state of a target Hamiltonian. These bounds do not depend on the annealing schedule and can take the local structure of the Hamiltonian into account. Consequently, the bounds are computable without knowledge of the annealer's dynamics and, in certain cases, scale with the size of the system. We discuss spin systems where the bounds are polynomially tighter than existing bounds, qualitatively capturing the scaling of the exact annealing times as a function of the number of spins.

• Interaction quenches in Bose gases studied with a time-dependent hypernetted-chain Euler-Lagrange method

  We present a new variational method to study the dynamics of a closed bosonic many-body system, the time-dependent hypernetted-chain Euler-Lagrange method, tHNC. Based on the Jastrow ansatz, it accounts for quantum fluctuations in a non-perturbative way. The tHNC method scales well with the number of dimensions, as demonstrated by our results on one-, two-, and three-dimensional systems. We apply the tHNC method to interaction quenches, i.e. sudden changes of the interaction strength, in homogeneous Bose gases. When the quench is strong enough that the final state has roton excitations (as found and predicted for dipolar and Rydberg-dressed Bose-Einstein condensates, respectively), the pair distribution function exhibits stable oscillations. For validation, we compare tHNC results with time-dependent variational Monte Carlo results in one and two dimensions.

• Adaptive sampling-based optimization of quantics tensor trains for noisy functions: Applications to quantum simulations

  Tensor cross interpolation (TCI) is a powerful technique for learning a tensor train (TT) by adaptively sampling a target tensor based on an interpolation formula. However, when the tensor evaluations contain random noise, optimizing the TT is more advantageous than interpolating the noise. Here, we propose a new method that starts with an initial guess of TT and optimizes it using non-linear least-squares by fitting it to measured points obtained from TCI. We use quantics TCI (QTCI) in this method and demonstrate its effectiveness on sine and two-time correlation functions, with each evaluated with random noise. The resulting QTT exhibits increased robustness against noise compared to the QTCI method. Furthermore, we employ this optimized QTT of the correlation function in quantum simulation based on pseudo-imaginary-time evolution, resulting in ground-state energy with higher accuracy than the QTCI or Monte Carlo methods.
