• Measurements of the Antiquark Flavor Asymmetry in the Proton by the Drell-Yan Experiment SeaQuest

  The antiquark flavor asymmetry dbar/ubar in the proton gives an insight on the non-perturbative structure of the proton. The SeaQuest experiment measured the Drell–Yan cross section ratio of proton-deuterium to proton-proton to determine the antiquark flavor asymmetry dbar/ubar precisely in the range of 0.13<x<0.45. SeaQuest provides the evidence of dbar/ubar > 1.0 over a wide range of momenta. Some theoretical models reproduce this result.

• The photon content of the proton in the CT18 global analysis

  Recently, two photon PDF sets based on implementations of the LUX ansatz into the CT18 global analysis were released. In CT18lux, the photon PDF is calculated directly using the LUX master formula for all scales, $\mu$. In an alternative realization, CT18qed, the photon PDF is initialized at the starting scale, $\mu_0$, using the LUX formulation and evolved to higher scales $\mu(>\mu_0)$ with a combined QED+QCD kernel at $\mathcal{O}(\alpha),~\mathcal{O}(\alpha\alpha_s)$ and $\mathcal{O}(\alpha^2)$. In the small-$x$ region, the photon PDF uncertainty is mainly induced by the quark and gluon PDFs, through the perturbative DIS structure functions. In comparison, the large-$x$ photon uncertainty comes from various low-energy, nonperturbative contributions, including variations of the inelastic structure functions in the resonance and continuum regions, higher-twist and target-mass corrections, and elastic electromagnetic form factors of the proton. We take the production of doubly-charged Higgs pairs, $(H^{++}H^{--})$, as an example of scenarios beyond the Standard Model to illustrate the phenomenological implications of these photon PDFs at the LHC.

  This paper discusses a statistical anomaly-detection method for model-independent searches for new physics in collision events produced at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC). The method requires calculations of Z-scores for a large number of Lorenz-invariant variables to identify events that deviate from those expected for the Standard Model (SM).

• EUSO-SPB2: A sub-orbital cosmic ray and neutrino multi-messenger pathfinder observatory

  The next generation of ultra-high energy cosmic ray (UHECR) and very-high energy neutrino observatories will address the challenge of the extremely low fluxes of these particles at the highest energies. EUSO-SPB2 (Extreme Universe Space Observatory on a Super Pressure Balloon 2) is designed to prepare space missions to address this challenge. EUSO-SPB2 is equipped with 2 telescopes: the Fluorescence Telescope, which will point downwards and measure fluorescence emission from UHECR air showers with an energy above 2 EeV, and the Cherenkov Telescope (CT), which will point towards the Earth's limb and measure direct Cherenkov emission from cosmic rays with energies above 1 PeV verifying the technique. Pointed below the limb, the CT will search for Cherenkov emission produced by neutrino-sourced tau-lepton decays above 10 PeV energies and study backgrounds for such events. The EUSO-SPB2 mission will provide pioneering observations and technical milestones on the path towards a space-based multi-messenger observatory.

• Measurement of Target Spin (in)dependent Asymmetries in Dimuon Production in Pion-Nucleon Collisions at COMPASS

  The exploration of the transverse spin structure of the nucleon is one of the main topics of the COMPASS phase-II experiment. In 2015 and 2018 COMPASS performed Drell–Yan (DY) measurements using a 190 GeV π− beam interacting with a transversely polarized NH3 target and unpolarized W target. The azimuthal asymmetries in DY with trans- versely polarized NH3 target are sensitive to various transverse momentum dependent parton distribution functions. Preliminary results on the Sivers asymmetry are consis- tent with the QCD prediction for a sign-change of Sivers functions in DY. The angular coefficients λ, μ and ν that describe the unpolarized part of the DY cross section have been extracted from the data collected with W target. The preliminary results on the angular coefficients indicate the violation of the Lam–Tung relation, consistent with the observation in earlier DY experiments with pion beams.

  The NUCLEUS experiment aims to perform a high-precision measurement of Coherent Elastic Neutrino-Nucleus Scattering (CEvNS) at the EdF Chooz B nuclear power plant in France. CEvNS is a unique process to study neutrino properties and to search for physics beyond the Standard Model. The study of CEvNS is also important for light Dark-Matter searches. It could be a possible irreducible background for high-sensitivity Dark-Matter experiments. NUCLEUS is an experiment under construction based on ultra-low threshold ($\sim$20 eV$_{nr}$) cryogenic calorimeters, operated at tens-of-mK temperatures.

• Recent progress on the study of nucleon structure from lattice QCD and future perspectives

  We review the progress achieved within the last five years in the simulations of lattice QCD, as well as in the analysis for selected quantities probing nucleon structure. In particular, we discuss results on the nucleon electromagnetic form factors, $\sigma$-terms, the momentum fraction carried b quark in the nucleon and the helicity and transversity. All quantities are obtained using simulations generated with quark masses fixed to their physical values. In addition, we review the on-going effort to extract parton distribution functions (PDFs) directly from lattice QCD using the quasi-PDFs approach.

• Beryllium-9 in cluster effective field theory

  We study the 9 Be ground-state energy with non-local αn and αα potentials derived from Cluster Effective Field Theory. The short-distance dependence of the interaction is regulated with a momentum cutoff. The potential parameters are fitted to reproduce scattering length and effective range. We implement such potential models in a Non-Symmetrized Hyperspherical Harmonics (NSHH) code in momentum space. In addition we calculate ground-state energies of various alpha nuclei. Work is in progress in view of the calculation of the photodisintegration of 9 Be with the Lorentz Integral Transform (LIT) method.

  Proton–3He scattering is one of the good probes to study the T = 3/2 channel of three– nucleon forces. We have measured 3He analyzing powers for p−3He elastic scattering with the polarized 3He target at 70 and 100 MeV. In the conference the data were com- pared with the theoretical predictions based on the modern nucleon–nucleon potentials. Large discrepancies were found between the data and the calculations at the angles where the 3He analyzing power takes the minimum and maximum values.
