• Intrinsic charm in the nucleon and forward production of charm: a new constrain from IceCube Neutrino Observatory

  The predictions for the atmospheric neutrino flux at high energies strongly depend on the contribution of prompt neutrinos, which are determined by the production of charmed meson in the atmosphere at very forward rapidities. Here we estimate the related cross sections taking into account the presence of an intrinsic charm (IC) component in the proton wave function. The impact on the predictions for the prompt neutrino flux is investigated assuming different values for the probability to find the IC in the nucleon.

• Nucleon and pion PDFs: large-x asymptotics meets functional mimicry

  We review strategies to unveil the primordial large-$x$ structure of the nucleons as well as the pion from hard-scattering experiments. Ideas are presented for learning about the $x\to 1$ limit of nonperturbative QCD dynamics at energy scales of order 1 GeV from collider experiments at much higher scales. The behavior of parton distributions at $x\to 1$ predicted by the quark counting rules and other low-energy theoretical approaches is contrasted with phenomenological PDFs. Polynomial mimicry of PDF parametrizations is one of many factors that influence the apparent power of the $(1-x)$ falloff. We discuss implications of the mimicry for the large-$x$ falloff of the pion PDFs.

• DsTau: study of tau neutrino production with nuclear emulsion in the CERN-SPS

  Tau neutrino is one of the least known particle of Standard Model; there are only few measurements with a limited statistics. The DONUT experiment first reported the tau neutrino interaction cross-section but their measurement suffers from large systematic error of more than $50\%$ which is mainly due to uncertainty in the tau neutrino flux prediction. The tau neutrino cross section is an essential ingredient in neutrino experiments and its precise measurement would enable a search for new physics effects such as testing the Lepton Universality in neutrino interactions. The main goal of the DsTau experiment is to measure an inclusive differential cross-section of a $D_s$ production with a consecutive decay to tau lepton in p-A interactions at the CERN-SPS. The measurement of DsTau will reduce the systematic uncertainty in tau neutrino interaction cross-section to $10\%$ level. The results from the pilot run and the prospect for physics runs in 2021-2022 will be discussed.

• Transversity through Dihadron: a constrained fit

  We present a study of the valence transversity PDF obtained through a constrained fit. The effects of the constraints on the uncertainties of the PDF are explored. We show that the resulting isovector tensor charge is largely undetermined and, hence, compatible with all lattice evaluations.

• Generalized Heisenberg-Weyl groups and Hermite functions

  A generalisation of Euclidean and pseudo-Euclidean groups is presented, where the Weyl-Heisenberg groups, well known in quantum mechanics, are involved. A new family of groups is obtained including all the above-mentioned groups as subgroups. Symmetries, like self-similarity and invariance with respect to the orientation of the axes, are properly included in the structure of this new family of groups. Generalized Hermite functions on multidimensional spaces, which serve as orthogonal bases of Hilbert spaces supporting unitary irreducible representations of these new groups, are introduced.

• High-energy logarithmic corrections to the QCD component of same-sign W-pair production

  We describe the calculation of the QCD contribution to same-sign $W$-pair production, $pp\to e^\pm \nu_e \mu^\pm \nu_\mu jj$, resumming all contributions scaling as $\alpha_W^4 \alpha_s^{2+k}\log^k(\hat s/p_\perp^2)$ [arXiv:2107.06818]. These leading logarithmic contributions are enhanced by typical cuts used for Vector Boson Scattering (VBS) studies. We show that while the cross sections are little affected by these corrections, other more exclusive observables relevant for experimental studies are affected more significantly.

• On old relations of Lie theory, classical geometry and gauge theory

  Having been led by hadron interactions and low-energy photoproduction to SU(4) and non-compact SU*(4) symmetry, the general background turned out to be projective geometry (PG) of $P^3$, or when considering line and Complex geometry to include gauge theory, aspects of $P^5$. Point calculus and its dual completion by planes introduced quaternary (quadratic) "invariants" $x_{\mu}x^{\mu}=0$ and $p_{\mu}p^{\mu}=0$, and put focus on the intermediary form $(xu)$ and its treatment. Here, the major result is the identification of the symmetric 20 of SU(4) comprising nucleon and Delta states as related to the quaternary cubic forms discussed by Hilbert in his work on full invariant systems. So PG determines geometrically the scene by representations (reps) and invariant theory without having to force affine restrictions and additional (spinorial or gauge) rep theory.

• Measurements of $W$ and $Z/γ^*$ cross sections and their ratios in $pp$ collisions at STAR

  While the unpolarized parton distribution functions of the valence quarks ($d$ and $u$) are well determined from DIS experiments, the sea quark counterparts, $\bar{d}$ and $\bar{u}$, are much less constrained, in particular, near the valence region. Measurements of $W^+/W^-$ production ratio in $pp$ collider experiments, such as the STAR experiment at RHIC, can probe the $\bar{d}/\bar{u}$ ratio at a large $Q^2$ set by the $W$ mass. These proceedings will discuss recent results of $W$ and $Z$ cross-section measurements using the STAR $pp$ collision data at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 500/510\;\mathrm{GeV}$ collected in 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2017.

• Transverse spin asymmetries for inclusive $\rho^0$ production in SIDIS at COMPASS

  The production of vector mesons in SIDIS is a particularly interesting channel to study the polarized fragmentation and related phenomena. Preliminary COMPASS results for the first measurement of inclusive $\rho^0$ Collins and Sivers transverse-spin asymmetries are presented here for the first time. The analysis is based on the data-set collected by COMPASS in $2010$ using a $160\, \rm{GeV}/c$ $\mu^+$ beam and a transversely polarized $NH_3$ target. The asymmetries are extracted as function of Bjorken-$x$, of the total transverse momentum of the oppositely charged hadron pair and of the fraction of available energy $z$ carried by the pair. Indications for positive Collins and Sivers asymmetries are obtained as expected from models.

• SU(3) hybrid static potentials at small quark-antiquark separations from fine lattices

  We summarize our recent lattice gauge theory computation of the $\Pi_u$ and $\Sigma_u^-$ hybrid static potentials at small quark-antiquark separations. We provide parameterizations of the resulting lattice data points, which can be used for investigating masses and properties of heavy hybrid mesons in the Born-Oppenheimer approximation.
