Three-loop soft anomalous dimensions in QCD

I present results for soft anomalous dimensions through three loops for many QCD processes. In particular, I give detailed expressions for soft anomalous dimensions in various processes with electroweak and Higgs bosons as well as single top quarks and top-antitop pairs.
Timelike transition form factor for CP-odd Higgs boson production

We investigate the production of CP-odd Higgs boson $A^0$ associated with a real $\gamma$ in $e^+e^-$ collisions. Because of the properties of $A^0$ coupling to the other fields, the main contribution comes from the top-quark triangle loop diagrams. We obtain the timelike transition form factor which describes the production amplitude of $A^0$ in the $e^+e^-$ collisions. This timelike transition form factor is related to the spacelike transition form factor relevant for the $A^0$ production in $e^-\gamma$ collisions. It turns out that the possible extra contributions from chargino-sneutrino and neutralino-selectron box diagrams do not give sizable effects.

Production mechanisms of open heavy flavor mesons in high-multiplicity events

In this proceeding we discuss different mechanisms of open-heavy flavor meson production which contribute to inclusive and single diffractive cross-sections. For the case of inclusive production we demonstrate that the three-Pomeron fusion is significant for the $D$-meson production in the kinematics of small transverse momenta $p_{T}$, as well as in large-multiplicity events. Its inclusion allows to improve significantly the description of experimental data. We also analyzed the diffractive production and found that due to gap survival factors it constitutes 0.5\textendash 2 per cent of the inclusive production. The expected dependence on event multiplicity in this channel is significantly milder than for inclusive case.
Background field method and generalized field redefinitions in effective field theories

We study the non-linear background field redefinitions arising at the quantum level in a spontaneously broken effective gauge field theory. The non-linear field redefinitions are crucial for the symmetric (i.e. fulfilling all the relevant functional identities of the theory) renormalization of gauge-invariant operators. In a general $R_\xi$-gauge the classical background-quantum splitting is also non-linearly deformed by radiative corrections. In the Landau gauge these deformations vanish to all orders in the loop expansion.
Position-dependent mass quantum systems and ADM formalism

The classical Einstein-Hilbert (EH) action for general relativity (GR) is shown to be formally analogous to the classical system with position-dependent mass (PDM) models. The analogy is developed and used to build the covariant classical Hamiltonian as well as defining an alternative phase portrait for GR. The set of associated Hamilton's equations in the phase space is presented as a first-order system dual to the Einstein field equations. Following the principles of quantum mechanics, I build a canonical theory for the classical general. A fully consistent quantum Hamiltonian for GR is constructed based on adopting a high dimensional phase space. It is observed that the functional wave equation is timeless. As a direct application, I present an alternative wave equation for quantum cosmology. In comparison to the standard Arnowitt-Deser-Misner(ADM) decomposition and quantum gravity proposals, I extended my analysis beyond the covariant regime when the metric is decomposed into the 3+1 dimensional ADM decomposition. I showed that an equal dimensional phase space can be obtained if one applies ADM decomposed metric.
Probing proton PDFs at high x with LHCb

LHCb is a forward spectrometer at the LHC covering the pseudorapidity region 2<$\eta$<5. Because of this forward coverage, LHCb can probe the proton parton distribution functions (PDFs) in previously unexplored kinematic regimes, in particular at very high and low Bjorken-x. This contribution presents LHCb measurements that can be used to constrain the proton PDFs, with a focus on the high-x and high-$Q^2$ regime.
Top-quark mass determination in the optimised threshold scan

One of the important goals at the future e$^+$e$^−$ colliders is to measure the top-quark mass and width in a scan of the pair production threshold. Presented in this work is the most general approach to the top-quark mass determination from the threshold scan at CLIC, with all relevant model parameters and selected systematic uncertainties included in the fit procedure. In the baseline scan scenario the top-quark mass can be extracted with precision of the order of 30 to 40 MeV, already for 100 fb$^{−1}$ of data collected at the threshold. We present the optimisation procedure based on the genetic algorithm with which the statistical uncertainty of the mass measurement can be reduced by about 20%.
Recent results on Central Exclusive Production with the STAR detector

We present results on the Central Exclusive Production of charged particle pairs $h^{+}h^{-}$ ($h = \pi, K, p$), $pp\to p^\prime+h^{+}h^{-}+p^\prime$, obtained with the STAR experiment at RHIC in proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of $\sqrt{s} = 200$ GeV. All final-state particles were reconstructed, including forward-scattered protons detected in the Roman Pot system. As a result, the Double Pomeron Exchange (DPE) events were selected and the non-exclusive backgrounds were efficiently rejected. Differential fiducial cross sections were measured as functions of observables related to the central hadronic final state and to the forward-scattered protons. The measured cross sections were compared to phenomenological model predictions based on the DPE. We also present preliminary results on the measurement of the same physics process at higher collision energy $\sqrt{s} = 510$ GeV. The data demonstrate features similar to those observed at $\sqrt{s} = 200$ GeV.
The mass of the $\pi^+$

At the Paul Scherrer Institute, the most precise pion mass value was obtained from a precision determination of the muon momentum, $p_{\mu^+}$, in pion decay at rest, $\pi^+ \rightarrow \mu^+ + \nu_{\mu}$. We find $p_{\mu^+} = (29.792\,00 \pm 0.000\,11$ MeV/c and $m_{\pi^+}$ = (139.570\,21 $\pm$ 0.000\,14) MeV/c$^2$. This value is more precise, however, in agreement with the recent compilation of the Particle Data Group for $m_{\pi^-}$. The agreement of $m_{\pi^+}$ with the most precise and recent single measurement, $m_{\pi^-}$ = (139.570\,77 $\pm$ 0.000\,18) MeV/c$^2$ is only fair (2.43 $\sigma$). From our $p_{\mu^+}$ value and using the above mentioned $m_{\pi^-}$ mass and the mass of the muon, $m_{\mu^+} = (105.658\,374\,5 \pm 0.000\,002\,4)$ MeV/c$^2$ we obtain an upper limit for the muon neutrino mass with 90 \%confidence, $m_{\mu_{\nu}} \leq 230$ keV/c$^2$. One also obtains a new quantitative measure of CPT invariance in the pion sector: $(m_{\pi^+} - m_{\pi^-})/m_{\pi}(\mbox{av}) = (-2.9 \pm 2.0)\cdot 10^{-6}$, an improvement by two orders of magnitude.
