• Line operators in 4d Chern-Simons theory and Cherkis bows

  We show that the phase spaces of a large family of line operators in 4d Chern-Simons theory with GL$_n$ gauge group are given by Cherkis bow varieties with $n$ crosses. These line operators are characterized by Hanany-Witten type brane constructions involving D3, D5, and NS5 branes in an $\Omega$-background. Linking numbers of the five-branes and mass parameters for the D3 brane theories determine the phase spaces and in special cases they correspond to vacuum moduli spaces of 3d $\mathcal{N}=4$ quiver theories. Examples include line operators that conjecturally create T, Q, and L-operators in integrable spin chains.

• ISAI: Investigating Solar Axion by Iron-57

  The existence of the axion is a unique solution for the strong CP problem, and the axion is one of the most promising candidates of the dark matter. Investigating Solar Axion by Iron-57 (ISAI) is being prepared as a complemented table-top experiment to confirm the solar axion scenario. Probing an X-ray emission from the nuclear transitions associated with the axion-nucleon coupling is a leading approach. ISAI searches for the monochromatic 14.4 keV X-ray from the first excited state of $^{57}$Fe using a state-of-the-art pixelized silicon detector, dubbed XRPIX, under an extremely low-background environment. We highlight scientific objectives, experimental design and the latest status of ISAI.

• Entanglement in the quantum Hall fluid of dipoles

  We revisit a model for gapped fractonic order in (2+1) dimensions (a symmetric-traceless tensor gauge theory with conservation of dipole and trace-quadrupole moments described in \cite{Prem:2017kxc}) and compute its ground-state entanglement entropy on $\mathbb R^2$. Along the way, we quantize the theory on open subsets of $\mathbb R^2$ which gives rise to gapless edge excitations that are Lifshitz-type scalar theories. We additionally explore varieties of gauge-invariant extended operators and rephrase the fractonic physics in terms of the local deformability of these operators. We explore similarities of this model to the effective field theories describing quantum Hall fluids: in particular, quantization of dipole moments through a novel compact symmetry leads us to interpret the vacuum of this theory as a dipole condensate atop of which dipoles with fractionalized moments appear as quasi-particle excitations with Abelian anyonic statistics. This interpretation is reflected in the subleading ``topological entanglement" correction to the entanglement entropy. We extend this result to a series of models with conserved multipole moments.

• Connected correlations in partitioning protocols: A case study and beyond

  The assumption of local relaxation in inhomogeneous quantum quenches allows to compute asymptotically the expectation value of local observables via hydrodynamic arguments known as generalized hydrodynamics (GHD). In this work we address formally the question of when an observable is local enough to be described by GHD using the playground of partitioning protocols and non-interacting time evolution. We show that any state evolving under a quadratic Hamiltonian can be described via a set of decoupled dynamical fields such that one of those fields can be identified with a space-time-dependent generalisation of the root density. By studying the contribution to a connected spin correlation of each of those fields independently, we derive the locality conditions under which an observable can be described using the root density only. That shows both the regime of validity for hydrodynamic approaches that aim at describing the asymptotic value of observables in term of the root density only, such as GHD, and the locality conditions necessary for Gaussianification to occur.

• Rapid measurements and phase transition detections made simple by AC-GANs

  In recent years, significant attention has been paid to using end-to-end neural networks for analyzing Monte Carlo data. However, the exploration of non-end-to-end generative adversarial neural networks remains limited. Here, we investigate classical many-body systems using generative adversarial neural networks. We employ the conditional generative adversarial network with an auxiliary classifier (AC-GAN) and integrate self-attention layers into the generator. This modification enables the network learn the distribution of the two-dimensional (2D) XY model's spin configurations and the physical quantities of interest. Utilizing the symmetry of the systems, we discover that AC-GAN can be trained with a very small raw dataset. This approach allows us to obtain reliable measurements for models typically demanding large samples, such as the large-sized 2D XY and the 3D constrained Heisenberg models. Moreover, we demonstrate the capability of AC-GAN to identify the phase transition points by quantifying the distribution changes in the spin configurations of the systems.

• Probing quantum entanglement and collectivity effects in e+p collisions at HERA H1

  Charged particle multiplicity spectra are measured at HERA H1 in DIS process at 319 GeV. The hadron entropy determined from the multiplicity spectra is compared to the gluon entropy predicted from a quantum-entanglement model. On the other hand, observed collective behaviours in high multiplicity pA, pp and ultra-peripheral PbPb collisions at RHIC and LHC motivate a study in ep collisions. Two- and multi-particle correlations are studied in DIS, as well as photoproduction events with collision energy <Wγp>~270 GeV.

• Closed universes in two dimensional gravity

  We study closed universes in simple models of two dimensional gravity, such as Jackiw-Teiteilboim (JT) gravity coupled to matter, and a toy topological model that captures the key features of the former. We find there is a stark contrast, as well as some connections, between the perturbative and non-perturbative aspects of the theory. We find rich semi-classical physics. However, when non-perturbative effects are included there is a unique closed universe state in each theory. We discuss possible meanings and interpretations of this observation.

• Fast tensor disentangling algorithm

  Many recent tensor network algorithms apply unitary operators to parts of a tensor network in order to reduce entanglement. However, many of the previously used iterative algorithms to minimize entanglement can be slow. We introduce an approximate, fast, and simple algorithm to optimize disentangling unitary tensors. Our algorithm is asymptotically faster than previous iterative algorithms and often results in a residual entanglement entropy that is within 10 to 40% of the minimum. For certain input tensors, our algorithm returns an optimal solution. When disentangling order-4 tensors with equal bond dimensions, our algorithm achieves an entanglement spectrum where nearly half of the singular values are zero. We further validate our algorithm by showing that it can efficiently disentangle random 1D states of qubits.

• Response functions and cross sections for inclusive neutrino scattering off $^2$H, $^3$H and $^3$He

  For several decades there has been an interest in studying neutrino scattering on light nuclei, with the hope of increasing knowledge about the theory of weak interactions and electroweak unification. A study of several neutrino induced reactions on light nuclei ($^2$H, $^3$H and $^3$He) is presented here. The cross section for these reactions is evaluated using the nuclear response functions, which holds the information about the nuclear interactions and structure. This approach has been tested for break-up reactions on the deuteron before and is now extended to three-nucleon break-up reactions.

• Photon-ALP oscillations at CTA energies

  Axions and axion-like-particles (ALPs) are well motivated beyond the standard model particles that can explain a variety of unsolved problems in physics, such as the strong CP problem and the nature of dark matter. These particles are characterised by their two-photon coupling, which leads to so-called photon-ALP oscillation as photons propagate through an external magnetic field. Such oscillations lead to characteristic signatures in the energy spectrum of high-energy photons from astrophysical sources, allowing us to probe the existence of ALPs and possibly dark matter. We review the signatures from ALPs in photon spectra and discuss a new method that can be used to directly search for the energy dependence of the oscillations. The focus is on photons at TeV-energies relevant for the upcoming Cherenkov Telescope Array (CTA).
