• Can $\overline{MS}$ parton distributions be negative?

  We review our recent paper, where we proved Parton distributions functions (PDFs) to be positive at NLO in the $\overline{MS}$ factorization scheme. We present some additional material that was useful in completing the steps for the actual proof, but we won't attempt to report on the full proof, but referring the reader to the paper itself.

• (Inter)racialisation: the regulation of domestic and urban space in housing North-African migrants in 1960s and 1970s France

  Literature on immigrant housing and assimilation has shown how housing policies perpetuate, create and contest racial boundaries. This paper argues for the necessity to look at the regulation of domestic space together with the regulation of the urban space. By reading “along” and “against” the archival grain, this paper looks at housing policies that targeted the North-African migrant population in the 1960s and 1970s in France as colonial continuities. French authorities ostensibly encouraged gendered assimilation through spatial politics and interventions in the domestic space. Literature on the French context has shown how this perpetuated racialisation in the housing process. Building upon feminist scholarship on gender, intimacy, and colonialism, this paper shows how these policies did not acknowledge interracialised households and prevented interracialised intimacies. This helps understand how housing policies can reinforce racialised exclusion by regulating racial boundaries in the urban space and the domestic space together.

• Dark matter searches and energy accumulation and release in materials

  Efforts to identify dark matter by detecting nuclear recoils produced by dark matter particles reveal low-energy backgrounds of unknown origin in different types of detectors. In many cases, energy accumulation and delayed burst-like releases of stored energy could provide an explanation. These dynamics follow Prigogine's ideas on systems with energy flow and the general Self-Organized Criticality scenario. We compare these models with properties of excess backgrounds in cryogenic solid-state detectors, relaxation processes in glasses and crystals, our observations of delayed luminescence in NaI(Tl), and make predictions for more phenomena present in these systems and in superconducting photon detectors and qubits. Experiments to create accurate phenomenological models are needed.

• Comparison of $pp$ and $p \bar{p}$ differential elastic cross sections and observation of the exchange of a colorless $C$-odd gluonic compound

  We describe the discovery of the colorless $C$-odd gluonic compound, the odderon, by the D0 and TOTEM Collaborations by comparing elastic differential cross sections in $pp$ and $p \bar{p}$ interactions at high energies.

• Study of $\text{D}^0$ meson interactions via femtoscopic correlations

  Femtoscopy is a powerful tool that can be used to investigate the space-time dimensions of the region from which the particles are emitted. When applied to high energy collisions this method is sensitive not only to quantum statistics, but also to final state interactions, such as strong interactions between hadrons and Coulomb interactions when considering charged particles. In particular, this procedure is used to investigate the sensitivity of the strong interaction to different source sizes for $\textrm{D}^{0}$ mesons correlations.

• Response functions and cross sections for inclusive neutrino scattering off $^2$H, $^3$H and $^3$He

  For several decades there has been an interest in studying neutrino scattering on light nuclei, with the hope of increasing knowledge about the theory of weak interactions and electroweak unification. A study of several neutrino induced reactions on light nuclei ($^2$H, $^3$H and $^3$He) is presented here. The cross section for these reactions is evaluated using the nuclear response functions, which holds the information about the nuclear interactions and structure. This approach has been tested for break-up reactions on the deuteron before and is now extended to three-nucleon break-up reactions.

• Apparent fine tunings for field theories with broken space-time symmetries

  We exhibit a class of effective field theories that have hierarchically small Wilson coefficients for operators that are not protected by symmetries but are not finely tuned. These theories possess bounded target spaces and vacua that break space-time symmetries. We give a physical interpretation of these theories as generalized solids with open boundary conditions. We show that these theories realize unusual RG flows where higher dimensional (seemingly irrelevant) operators become relevant even at weak coupling. Finally, we present an example of a field theory whose vacuum energy relaxes to a hierarchically small value compared to the UV cut-off.

• Universal Chern number statistics in random matrix fields

  We investigate the probability distribution of Chern numbers (quantum Hall conductance integers) for a parametric version of the GUE random matrix ensemble, which is a model for a chaotic or disordered system. The numerically-calculated single-band Chern number statistics agree well with predictions based on an earlier study [O. Gat and M. Wilkinson, SciPost Phys., 10, 149, (2021)] of the statistics of the quantum adiabatic curvature, when the parametric correlation length is small. However, contrary to an earlier conjecture, we find that the gap Chern numbers are correlated, and that the correlation is weak but slowly-decaying. Also, the statistics of weighted sums of Chern numbers differs markedly from predictions based upon the hypothesis that gap Chern numbers are uncorrelated. All our results are consistent with the universality hypothesis described in the earlier paper, including in the previously unstudied regime of large correlation length, where the Chern statistics is highly non-Gaussian.

• Hard color-singlet exchange in dijet events in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV

  We present a measurement of events with two jets separated by a pseudorapidity gap (jet-gap-jet). The signature is expected from hard color-singlet exchange. The jets are reconstructed with the CMS detector. The highest $p_\text{T}$ jets have $p_\text{T}^\text{jet1,2} > 40$ GeV, with $1.4 < |\eta^\text{jet1,2}| < 4.7$ and $\eta^\text{jet1} \eta^\text{jet2} < 0$. We measure the fraction of color-singlet exchange dijet events, $f_\text{CSE}$, and compare it to previous measurements and to predictions. We also study jet-gap-jet events where the colliding protons remain intact and are detected with the Roman pots of TOTEM. A larger fraction $f_\text{CSE}$ is found in the latter subsample.

• The diagrammatic coaction and cuts of the double box

  The diagrammatic coaction encodes the analytic structure of Feynman integrals by mapping any given Feynman diagram into a tensor product of diagrams defined by contractions and cuts of the original diagram. Feynman integrals evaluate to generalized hypergeometric functions in dimensional regularization. Establishing the coaction on this type of functions has helped formulating and checking the diagrammatic coaction of certain two-loop integrals. In this talk we study its application on the fully massless double box diagram. We make use of differential equation techniques, which, together with the properties of homology and cohomology theory of the resulting hypergeometric functions, allow us to formulate the coaction on a range of cuts of the double box in closed form.
