• Fast tensor disentangling algorithm

  Many recent tensor network algorithms apply unitary operators to parts of a tensor network in order to reduce entanglement. However, many of the previously used iterative algorithms to minimize entanglement can be slow. We introduce an approximate, fast, and simple algorithm to optimize disentangling unitary tensors. Our algorithm is asymptotically faster than previous iterative algorithms and often results in a residual entanglement entropy that is within 10 to 40% of the minimum. For certain input tensors, our algorithm returns an optimal solution. When disentangling order-4 tensors with equal bond dimensions, our algorithm achieves an entanglement spectrum where nearly half of the singular values are zero. We further validate our algorithm by showing that it can efficiently disentangle random 1D states of qubits.

• The full coverage approach to the detection of Extensive Air Showers

  A shower array exploiting the full coverage approach with a high segmentation of the readout allow to image the front of atmospheric showers with unprecedented resolution and detail. The grid distance determines the energy threshold (small energy showers are lost in the gap between detectors) and the quality of the shower sampling. Therefore, this experimental solution is needed to detect showers with a threshold in the 100 GeV range. The full coverage approach has been exploited in the ARGO-YBJ experiment. In this contribution we will summarise the advantages of this technique and discuss possible applications in new wide field of view detectors.

• On irregularities in the cosmic ray spectrum of \(10^{16}-10^{18}\) eV range

  Existing small, medium and large arrays for the study of cosmic rays of ultra-high energies are aimed for obtaining information about our galaxy and extragalactic space, namely to search and study astronomical objects that produce the flux of relativistic particles. The drift and interaction of such particles with magnetic fields and shock waves taking place in interstellar space causes the same interest. The shape of the energy spectrum of cosmic rays in the energy range $10^{15}-10^{18}$ eV, where the "knee" and the "second knee" are observed, can be formed as a superposition of the partial spectra of various chemical elements. Verification of galactic models, using recent experimental spectral data, makes it possible to study the nature of the galactic and extragalactic components of cosmic rays. The paper presents the result of the energy spectrum of cosmic rays in the range $10^{16}-10^{18}$ eV of measurements obtained with the Small Cherenkov array - a part of the Yakutsk array.

• CDMFT+HFD: An extension of dynamical mean field theory for nonlocal interactions applied to the single band extended Hubbard model

  We examine the phase diagram of the extended Hubbard model on a square lattice, for both attractive and repulsive nearest-neighbor interactions, using CDMFT+HFD, a combination of Cluster Dynamical Mean Field theory (CDMFT) and a Hartree-Fock mean-field decoupling of the inter-cluster extended interaction. For attractive non-local interactions, this model exhibits a region of phase separation near half-filling, in the vicinity of which we find islands of d-wave superconductivity, decaying rapidly as a function of doping, with disconnected regions of extended s-wave order at smaller (higher) electron densities. On the other hand, when the extended interaction is repulsive, a Mott insulating state at half-filling is destabilized by hole doping, in the strong-coupling limit, in favor of d-wave superconductivity. At the particle-hole invariant chemical potential, we find a first-order phase transition from antiferromagnetism (AF) to d-wave superconductivity as a function of the attractive nearest-neighbor interaction, along with a deviation of the density from the half-filled limit. A repulsive extended interaction instead favors charge-density wave (CDW) order at half-filling.

• One-shot holography

  Following the work of [J. High Energy Phys. 04, 062 (2021)], we define a generally covariant max-entanglement wedge of a boundary region B, which we conjecture to be the bulk region reconstructible from B. We similarly define a covariant min-entanglement wedge, which we conjecture to be the bulk region that can influence the state on B. We prove that the min- and max-entanglement wedges obey various properties necessary for this conjecture, such as nesting, inclusion of the causal wedge, and a reduction to the usual quantum extremal surface prescription in the appropriate special cases. These proofs rely on one-shot versions of the (restricted) quantum focusing conjecture (QFC) that we conjecture to hold. We argue that these QFCs imply a one-shot generalized second law (GSL) and quantum Bousso bound. Moreover, in a particular semiclassical limit we prove this one-shot GSL directly using algebraic techniques. Finally, in order to derive our results, we extend both the frameworks of one-shot quantum Shannon theory and state-specific reconstruction to finite-dimensional von Neumann algebras, allowing nontrivial centers.

  The GRAPES-3 experiment is a unique, extensive air shower experiment consisting of 400 scintillator detectors spread over 25000 m$^2$ and a 560 m$^2$ muon telescope. The experiment located at Ooty, India, has been collecting data for the past two decades. The unique capabilities of GRAPES-3 have allowed the study of cosmic rays over energies from a few TeV to tens of PeV and beyond. The measurement of the directional flux of muons (E$_\mu$≥1 GeV) by the large muon telescope permits an excellent gamma-hadron separation, which then becomes a powerful tool in the study of multi-TeV gamma-ray sources and the composition of primary cosmic rays. However, the high precision measurements also enable studies of transient atmospheric and interplanetary phenomena such as those produced by thunderstorms and geomagnetic storms. This paper presents some exciting new and recent results, including updates on various ongoing analyses.

  Deuteron spin structure program is aimed on extraction of two and three nucleon forces information, including their spin dependent parts, from dp elastic and dp breakup processes investigated at intermediate energies. The dp elastic data were obtained at Internal Target Station of Nuclotron (JINR) in the energy range 400-1800 MeV using polarized deuteron beam. Strong sensitivity to the short range spin structure of the isoscalar nucleon-nucleon correlations is observed in deuteron analyzing powers. Preliminary results of the the cross section for the dp breakup reaction have been obtained at 400 MeV of deuteron energy.

• Asymptotic structure of higher dimensional Yang-Mills theory

  Using the covariant phase space formalism, we construct the phase space for non-Abelian gauge theories in (d+2)-dimensional Minkowski spacetime for any d ≥ 2, including the edge modes that symplectically pair to the low energy degrees of freedom of the gauge field. Despite the fact that the symplectic form in odd and even-dimensional spacetimes appear ostensibly different, we demonstrate that both cases can be treated in a unified manner by utilizing the shadow transform. Upon quantization, we recover the algebra of the vacuum sector of the Hilbert space and derive a Ward identity that implies the leading soft gluon theorem in (d+2)-dimensional spacetime.

• ISAI: Investigating Solar Axion by Iron-57

  The existence of the axion is a unique solution for the strong CP problem, and the axion is one of the most promising candidates of the dark matter. Investigating Solar Axion by Iron-57 (ISAI) is being prepared as a complemented table-top experiment to confirm the solar axion scenario. Probing an X-ray emission from the nuclear transitions associated with the axion-nucleon coupling is a leading approach. ISAI searches for the monochromatic 14.4 keV X-ray from the first excited state of $^{57}$Fe using a state-of-the-art pixelized silicon detector, dubbed XRPIX, under an extremely low-background environment. We highlight scientific objectives, experimental design and the latest status of ISAI.

• Recent progress on the study of nucleon structure from lattice QCD and future perspectives

  We review the progress achieved within the last five years in the simulations of lattice QCD, as well as in the analysis for selected quantities probing nucleon structure. In particular, we discuss results on the nucleon electromagnetic form factors, $\sigma$-terms, the momentum fraction carried b quark in the nucleon and the helicity and transversity. All quantities are obtained using simulations generated with quark masses fixed to their physical values. In addition, we review the on-going effort to extract parton distribution functions (PDFs) directly from lattice QCD using the quasi-PDFs approach.
