  The appearance of lepton-flavour-violating processes in LHC proton-proton collisions is one of the possible ways that new physics beyond the Standard Model could manifest itself. This proceeding summarizes the most recent searches for lepton-flavour-violating processes and tests of lepton flavour universality with the ATLAS and CMS detectors, using proton-proton collisions at a centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV.

• Tau data-based evaluations of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon g-2

  We review the $\tau$ data-driven computation of Euclidean windows for the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment ($a_\mu$), which agree with the lattice results, making the difference of the $e^+e^-$ data-driven methods with them more intriguing. This conundrum needs to be solved by next year, when the final FNAL $a_\mu$ measurement will be published, in order to extract firm conclusions on possible new physics effects.

• A real-time approach to frequency-mixing spectroscopies: Application to sum and difference frequency generation in two-dimensional crystals

  We propose a computational framework to extract nonlinear response functions from real-time simulations in the presence of more than one external field. We apply this approach to the calculation of sum frequency generation (SFG) and difference frequency generation (DFG). SFG and DFG are second-order nonlinear processes where two lasers with frequencies $\omega_1$ and $\omega_2$ combine to produce a response at frequency $\omega = \omega_1 ± \omega_2$. Compared with other nonlinear responses such as second-harmonic generation, SFG and DFG allow for tunability over a larger range. Moreover, the optical response can be enhanced by selecting the two laser frequencies in order to match specific electron-hole transitions. To assess the approach, we calculate the SFG and DFG of two-dimensional crystals, h-BN and MoS$_2$ monolayers, from real-time solution of an effective Schrödinger equation. Within the effective Schrödinger equation, one can select from various levels of theory for the effective one-particle Hamiltonian to account for local-field effects and electron-hole interactions. We compare results obtained within the independent particle picture and including many-body effects. Such comparison allows us to identify and characterize excitonic features in the obtained spectra. Additionally, we demonstrate that our approach can also extract higher-order response functions, such as field-induced second-harmonic generation. We provide an example using the h-BN bilayer.

• Measurement of the muon magnetic anomaly to 0.20 ppm by the Muon g-2 experiment at Fermilab

  The Muon $g-2$ experiment at Fermilab aims to measure the muon magnetic moment anomaly, $a_{\mu}=(g-2)/2$, with a final accuracy of 0.14 parts per million (ppm). The experiment’s first result was published in 2021, based on data collected in 2018, and in 2023 a new result was published based on two more years of data taking, 2019 and 2020. The combination of the two results from Fermilab and the previous one from Brookhaven National Laboratory brought the uncertainty on the experimental measurement of $a_{\mu}$ to the unprecedented value of 0.19 ppm. This paper will present details about the improvements of statistical and systematic uncertainties on $a_{\mu}$ since the 2021 result.

• Quenching a Fermi superfluid across the BEC-BCS crossover

  We study the response of a Fermi superfluid to a rapid change of the interaction strength. For a broad range of quench parameters, the order parameter exhibits damped oscillations, however, we also identify quench regimes in which these oscillations are absent. By comparing our data to a numerical model we find that the damping time constants are explainable by a dephasing in a local density approximation, however, the oscillation frequencies, while being comparable to the superconducting order parameter, display in detail significant differences to the integrable BCS (Bardeen-Cooper-Schrieffer) model.

• The impact of ATLAS $V$+jet measurements on PDF fits

  The production of $W$/$Z$-bosons in association with jets is an important test of perturbative QCD predictions and also yields information about the parton distribution functions of the proton. We present fits to determine PDFs using inclusive $W$/$Z$-boson and $W$/$Z$+jets measurements from the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The ATLAS measurements are used in combination with deep-inelastic scattering data from HERA. An improved determination of the sea-quark densities at high Bjorken-$x$ is seen, while confirming a strange-quark density similar in size to the up- and down-sea-quark densities in the range $x<0.02$ found by previous ATLAS analyses.

• Logarithmic corrections for jet production at the LHC

  Several important processes and analyses at the LHC are sensitive to higher-order perturbative corrections beyond what can currently be calculated at fixed order. One important class of logarithmic corrections are those which appear when the centre-of-mass energy of a QCD collision is much larger than the transverse momenta of the observed jets. We describe the High Energy Jets (HEJ) framework, which includes the dominant high-energy logarithms to provide all-order predictions for several LHC processes including Higgs, $W$, or $Z$ boson production in association with jets. We will summarise some recent developments, in particular the first matching of HEJ to a NLO calculation.

• TAMBO: Searching for tau neutrinos in the Peruvian Andes

  TAMBO is a planned next-generation neutrino observatory sensitive to 1-100 PeV Earth-skimming tau neutrinos. This tau neutrino specificity will provide a high-purity sample of astrophysical neutrinos whose locations on the sky can then be used to improve the sensitivities of all-flavor neutrino observatories. The observatory will be located in a deep canyon and will comprise an array of water-Cherenkov and plastic scintillator air-shower detectors. In this proceeding, I will summarize the current status of the updated TAMBO simulation package, which is currently being used for detector optimization and reconstruction studies.

• Critical behavior of a phase transition in the dynamics of interacting populations

  Many-variable differential equations with random coefficients provide powerful models for the dynamics of many interacting species in ecology. These models are known to exhibit a dynamical phase transition from a phase where population sizes reach a fixed point, to a phase where they fluctuate indefinitely. Here we provide a theory for the critical behavior close to the phase transition. We show that timescales diverge at the transition and that temporal fluctuations grow continuously upon crossing it. We further show the existence of three different universality classes, with different sets of critical exponents, highlighting the importance of the migration rate coupling the system to its surroundings.

• Lepton flavour universality tests and lepton flavour violation searches at LHCb

  The Standard Model (SM) of particle physics represents our most fundamental knowledge of elementary particles and their interactions. One of the cardinal properties of the SM which has been thoroughly studied during the past years is the so-called Lepton Flavour Universality (LFU): W and Z bosons are predicted to be equally coupled to the three lepton generations. Hints for deviations from LFU have been found by the LHCb collaboration in $b\to s\ell\ell$ and $b\to c\ell\nu$ decays, sparking great interest and further motivating the searches for lepton flavour violating processes. A general review of these results is presented, including prospects in view of the LHC and LHCb upgrade.
