• Functional renormalization group for fermions on a one dimensional lattice at arbitrary filling

  A formalism based on the fermionic functional-renormalization-group approach to interacting electron models defined on a lattice is presented. One-loop flow equations for the coupling constants and susceptibilities in the particle-particle and particle-hole channels are derived in weak-coupling conditions. It is shown that lattice effects manifest themselves through the curvature of the spectrum and the dependence of the coupling constants on momenta. This method is then applied to the one-dimensional extended Hubbard model; we thoroughly discuss the evolution of the phase diagram, and in particular the fate of the bond-centered charge-density-wave phase, as the system is doped away from half-filling. Our findings are compared to the predictions of the field-theory continuum limit and available numerical results.

• Fast tensor disentangling algorithm

  Many recent tensor network algorithms apply unitary operators to parts of a tensor network in order to reduce entanglement. However, many of the previously used iterative algorithms to minimize entanglement can be slow. We introduce an approximate, fast, and simple algorithm to optimize disentangling unitary tensors. Our algorithm is asymptotically faster than previous iterative algorithms and often results in a residual entanglement entropy that is within 10 to 40% of the minimum. For certain input tensors, our algorithm returns an optimal solution. When disentangling order-4 tensors with equal bond dimensions, our algorithm achieves an entanglement spectrum where nearly half of the singular values are zero. We further validate our algorithm by showing that it can efficiently disentangle random 1D states of qubits.

• Quasiparticle disintegration in fermionic superfluids

  We study the fermionic quasiparticle spectrum in a zero-temperature superfluid Fermi gas, and in particular how it is modified by different disintegration processes. On top of the disintegration by emission of a collective boson ($1\to2$, subject of a previous study, PRL 124, 073404), we consider here disintegration events where three quasiparticles are emitted ($1\to3$). We show that both disintegration processes are described by a $t$-matrix self-energy (as well as some highly off-resonant vacuum processes), and we characterize the associated disintegration continua. At strong coupling, we show that the quasiparticle spectrum is heavily distorted near the $1\to3$ disintegration threshold. Near the dispersion minimum, where the quasiparticles remain well-defined, the main effect of the off-shell disintegration processes is to shift the location of the minimum by a value that corresponds to the Hartree shift in the BCS limit. With our approximation of the self-energy, the correction to the energy gap with respect to the mean-field result however remains small, in contrast with experimental measurements.

• Dipolar magnetostirring protocol for three-well atomtronic circuits

  We propose a magnetostirring protocol to create persistent currents on an annular system. Under this protocol, polar bosons confined in a three-well ring circuit reach a state with high average circulation. We model the system with an extended Bose-Hubbard Hamiltonian and show that the protocol can create circulation in an atomtronic circuit for a range of tunable parameters. The performance and robustness of this scheme are examined, in particular considering different interaction regimes. We also present a method for predicting the optimal protocol parameters, which improves protocol's scalability and enables its application to systems with large numbers of bosons. This overcomes computational limitations and paves the way for exploring macroscopic quantum phenomena.

• On correlation functions in models related to the Temperley-Lieb algebra

  We deal with quantum spin chains whose Hamiltonian arises from a representation of the Temperley-Lieb algebra, and we consider the mean values of those local operators which are generated by the Temperley-Lieb algebra. We present two key conjectures which relate these mean values to existing literature about factorized correlation functions in the XXZ spin chain. The first conjecture states that the finite volume mean values of the current and generalized current operators are given by the same simple formulas as in the case of the XXZ chain. The second conjecture states that the mean values of products of Temperley-Lieb generators can be factorized: they can expressed as sums of products of current mean values, such that the coefficients in the factorization depend neither on the eigenstate in question, nor on the selected representation of the algebra. The coefficients can be extracted from existing work on factorized correlation functions in the XXZ model. The conjectures should hold for all eigenstates that are non-degenerate with respect to the local charges of the models. We consider concrete representations, where we check the conjectures: the so-called golden chain, the $Q$-state Potts model, and the trace representation. We also explain how to derive the generalized current operators from concrete expressions for the local charges.

• Emergent criticality in a constrained boson model

  We show, via explicit computation on a constrained bosonic model, that the presence of subsystem symmetries can lead to a quantum phase transition (QPT) where the critical point exhibits an emergent enhanced symmetry. Such a transition separates a unique gapped ground state from a gapless one; the latter phase exhibits a broken $Z_2$ symmetry which we tie to the presence of the subsystem symmetries in the model. The intermediate critical point separating these phases exhibits an additional emergent $Z_2$ symmetry which we identify. This emergence leads to a critical theory which seems to be different from those in the Ising universality class. Instead, within the data obtained from finite-size scaling analysis, we find the critical theory to be not inconsistent with Ashkin-Teller universality in the sense that the transitions of the model reproduces a critical line with variable correlation length exponent $\nu$ but constant central charge $c$ close to unity. We verify this scenario via explicit exact-diagonalization computations, provide an effective Landau-Ginzburg theory for such a transition, and discuss the connection of our model to the PXP model describing Rydberg atom arrays.

• Monodromies of CFT correlators on the Lorentzian cylinder

  While correlators of a CFT are single valued in Euclidean Space, they are multi-valued - and have a complicated sheet structure - in Lorentzian space. Correlators on $R^{1,1}$ are well known to access a finite number of these sheets. In this paper, we demonstrate the spiral nature of lightcones on $S^1 × $ time, which allows the time-ordered correlators of a $CFT_2$ on this spacetime - the Lorentzian cylinder - to access an infinite number of sheets of the correlator. We present a complete classification, both of the sheets accessed as well as of the various distinct causal configurations that lie on a particular sheet. Our construction provides a physical interpretation for an infinite number of sheets of the correlator, while, however, leaving a larger infinity of these sheets uninterpreted.

• Equivariant parameter families of spin chains: A discrete MPS formulation

  We analyze topological phase transitions and higher Berry curvature in one-dimensional quantum spin systems, using a framework that explicitly incorporates the symmetry group action on the parameter space. Based on a $G$-compatible discretization of the parameter space, we incorporate both group cochains and parameter-space differentials, enabling the systematic construction of equivariant topological invariants. We derive a fixed-point formula for the higher Berry invariant in the case where the symmetry action has isolated fixed points. This reveals that the phase transition point between Haldane and trivial phases acts as a monopole-like defect where higher Berry curvature emanates. We further discuss hierarchical structures of topological defects in the parameter space, governed by symmetry reductions and compatibility with subgroup structures.

• Time-dependent Schwinger boson mean-field theory of supermagnonic propagation in 2D antiferromagnets

  Understanding the speed limits for the propagation of magnons is of key importance for the development of ultrafast spintronics and magnonics. Recently, it was predicted that in 2D antiferromagnets, spin correlations can propagate faster than the highest magnon velocity. Here we gain deeper understanding of this supermagnonic effect based on time-dependent Schwinger boson mean-field theory. We find that the supermagnonic effect is determined by the competition between propagating magnons and a localized quasi-bound state, which is tunable by lattice coordination and quantum spin value $S$, suggesting a new scenario to enhance magnon propagation.

• Spectral anomalies and broken symmetries in maximally chaotic quantum maps

  Spectral statistics such as the level spacing statistics and spectral form factor (SFF) are widely expected to accurately identify "ergodicity," including the presence of underlying macroscopic symmetries, in generic quantum systems ranging from quantized chaotic maps to interacting many-body systems. By studying various quantizations of maximally chaotic maps that break a discrete classical symmetry upon quantization, we demonstrate that this approach can be misleading and fail to detect macroscopic symmetries. Notably, the same classical map can exhibit signatures of different random matrix symmetry classes in short-range spectral statistics depending on the quantization. While the long-range spectral statistics encoded in the early time ramp of the SFF are more robust and correctly identify macroscopic symmetries in several common quantizations, we also demonstrate analytically and numerically that the presence of Berry-like phases in the quantization leads to spectral anomalies, which break this correspondence. Finally, we provide numerical evidence that long-range spectral rigidity remains directly correlated with ergodicity in the quantum dynamical sense of visiting a complete orthonormal basis.
