• T-violating effect in $\nu_\tau (\bar{\nu}_\tau)-$nucleon quasielastic scattering

  The production cross sections and polarization observables of the $\tau$ leptons produced in the $|\Delta S| = 0$ and $1$ induced $\nu_{\tau}(\bar{\nu}_{\tau})-N$ quasielastic scattering have been studied. The effect of T violation, in the case of $\Delta S=0$ and 1 processes, and the SU(3) symmetry breaking effects, in the case of $\Delta S=1$ processes, on the total scattering cross sections as well polarization observables are explored. Experimentally, it would be possible to observe these effects in the forthcoming (anti)neutrino experiments like DUNE, SHiP and DsTau.

• What do DVCS data tell us about TCS observables?

  Deeply virtual Compton scattering (DVCS) and timelike Compton scattering (TCS) leading twist amplitudes are intimately related thanks to their analytic properties as a function of $Q^2$. We exploit this feature to use Compton form factors previously extracted from available DVCS data and derive data-driven predictions for TCS observables to be measured in near future experiments. Our results quantitatively illustrate the complementarity of DVCS and TCS experiments.

• The Scattering and Neutrino Detector at the LHC

  SND@LHC is a compact experiment that will detect high energy neutrinos produced by heavy flavour quarks at the LHC in the pseudo-rapidity region 7.2 $< \eta <$ 8.6. It is an hybrid system, comprising nuclear emulsions and electronic detectors, that allows all three $\nu$ flavours to be distinguished, thus opening an unique opportunity to probe the physics of charm production in the very forward region. The first phase aims at operating the detector throughout LHC Run 3 collecting a total of 150 fb$^{-1}$. The electronic subdetectors were assembled in the summer and recently operated in test beams.

• Colouring the Higgs boson

  The jet colour ring is a novel colour tagger observable designed to separate the decay of a colour-singlet into two jets from a two-jet background in a different colour configuration. Simulation studies in the case of the production of a boosted Higgs boson decaying in two b-quarks and an associate electroweak boson, showed notable discriminator powers when comparing the jet colour ring performances with other observables. These results are opening a wide scenario for further studies.

• Measuring three-flavor neutrinos with FASER$\nu$ at the LHC

  FASER$\nu$ at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is designed to directly detect neutrinos from a collider for the first time and study their cross sections at TeV energies. To date, no such measurements have been made. In 2018, a pilot detector was installed and collected proton-proton collision data of 12.2 fb$^{-1}$ at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV. We observed the first neutrino interaction candidates at the LHC, opening a new avenue for studying neutrinos from current and future high-energy colliders. During Run 3 of the LHC from 2022, we will deploy a neutrino detector with a target mass of 1.1 tons. We expect to collect $\sim$2,000 $\nu_e$, 6,000 $\nu_{\mu}$, and 40 $\nu_{\tau}$ interactions in the detector.

• New $\tau$-based evaluation of the hadronic vacuum polarization contribution to the muon anomalous magnetic moment

  We revisit the radiative corrections to the $\tau^-\to\pi^-\pi^0\nu_\tau(\gamma)$ decays using Resonance Chiral Theory for the structure-dependent part. This channel is the most important one to understand the hadronic vacuum polarization piece of the muon g-2, which dominates the uncertainty of its data-driven prediction in the Standard Model. Using our results, the discrepancy between theory and experiment for this observable is reduced to $\sim2.2\sigma$.

• Single-particle spectra and magnetic susceptibility in the Emery model: A dynamical mean-field perspective

  We investigate dynamical mean-field calculations of the three-band Emery model at the one- and two-particle level for material-realistic parameters of high-$T_c$ superconductors. Our study shows that even within dynamical mean-field theory, which accounts solely for temporal fluctuations, the intrinsic multi-orbital nature of the Emery model introduces effective non-local correlations. These correlations lead to a non-Curie-like temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility, consistent with nuclear magnetic resonance experiments in the pseudogap regime. By analyzing the temperature dependence of the uniform static spin susceptibility obtained by single-site and cluster dynamical mean-field theory, we find indications of emerging oxygen-copper singlet fluctuations, explicitly captured by the model. Despite correctly describing the hallmark of the pseudogap at the two-particle level, such as the drop in the Knight shift of nuclear magnetic resonance, dynamical mean-field theory fails to capture the spectral properties of the pseudogap.

• The two-loop radiative gluon jet function for $gg\to h$ via a light quark loop

  The Higgs-boson production channel $gg\to h$ mediated by light-quark loops receives large logarithmic corrections in QCD, which can be resummed using factorization formulae derived in soft-collinear effective theory. In these factorization formulae the radiative gluon jet function appears, which is a central object in the study of factorization beyond the leading order in scale ratios. We calculate this function at two-loop order for the first time and present the subtleties that come along with this.

• Search for lepton flavour violating decays involving tau leptons in the final state at CMS

  In the Standard Model (SM) lepton flavour numbers are approximately conserved at energies accessible to current experiments, where lepton flavour violation is extremely suppressed. The observation of neutrino oscillations, however, proves that neutrinos are massive particles and allows for additional Lepton Flavour Violating (LFV) processes also at low energies. Nevertheless, these processes are predicted with very low branching ratios and are sensitive to new physics effects, which could manifest as an enhancement in the decay probability. Similarly, Lepton Flavour Universality Violating (LFUV) observables allows for the test of the SM and the study of beyond the SM theories. The latest CMS results from the Higgs, B-physics and exotica groups are presented on the search for LFV and LFUV with tau leptons in the final state. The results are based on data collected in proton-proton collisions at the centre-of-mass energy of 13 TeV.

• Free growth under tension

  Ever since the ground breaking work of Trepat et al. in 2009, we know that cell colonies growing on a substrate can be under tensile mechanical stress. The origin of tension has so far been attributed to cellular motility forces being oriented outward of the colony. Works in the field mainly revolve around how this orientation of the forces can be explained, ranging from velocity alignment to self-sorting due to self-propulsion. In this work, we demonstrate that tension in growing colonies can also be explained without cellular motility forces! Using a combination of well established tissue growth simulation technique and analytical modelling, we show how tension can arise as a consequence of simple mechanics of growing tissues. Combining these models with a minimalistic motility model shows how colonies can expand while under even larger tension. Furthermore, our results and analytical models provide novel analysis procedures to identify the underlying mechanics.
