• The Higgs mechanism with diagrams: A didactic approach

  We present a paedagogical treatment of the electroweak Higgs mechanism based solely on Feynman diagrams and S-matrix elements, without recourse to (gauge) symmetry arguments. Throughout, the emphasis is on Feynman rules and the Schwinger-Dyson equations; it is pointed out that particular care is needed in the treatment of tadpole diagrams and their symmetry factors.

• Rademacher expansion of modular integrals

  We develop a method to evaluate integrals of non-holomorphic modular functions over the fundamental domain of the torus with modular parameter $\tau$ analytically. It proceeds in two steps: first the integral is transformed to a Lorentzian contour by the same strategy that leads to the Lorentzian inversion formula in CFT, and then we apply a two-dimensional version of the Rademacher expansion. This computes the integral in terms of an expansion sensitive to the singular behaviour of the integrand near all the Lorentzian cusps $\tau \to i ∞$, $\bar{\tau} \to x ∈ \mathbb{Q}$. We apply this technique to a variety of examples such as the evaluation of string one-loop partition functions, where it leads to the first analytic formula for the cosmological constants of the bosonic string and the $\mathrm{SO}(16) × \mathrm{SO}(16)$ string.

• Photon TMDs from uPDFevolv

  We present photon TMDs generated using the Parton Branching Method with QED evolution. We discuss the TMD’s properties and compare it to the gluon TMD. Two sets of TMDs differing in their initial evolution scale and the choice of the renormalisation scale are defined and compared to each other.

• The 3d $A$-model and generalised symmetries, part I: Bosonic Chern-Simons theories

  The 3d $A$-model is a two-dimensional approach to the computation of supersymmetric observables of three-dimensional $\mathcal{N}=2$ supersymmetric gauge theories. In principle, it allows us to compute half-BPS partition functions on any compact Seifert three-manifold (as well as of expectation values of half-BPS lines thereon), but previous results focussed on the case where the gauge group $\widetilde G$ is a product of simply-connected and/or unitary gauge groups. We are interested in the more general case of a compact gauge group $G=\widetilde G/\Gamma$, which is obtained from the $\widetilde G$ theory by gauging a discrete one-form symmetry. In this paper, we discuss in detail the case of pure $\mathcal{N}=2$ Chern-Simons theories (without matter) for simple groups $G$. When $G=\widetilde G$ is simply-connected, we demonstrate the exact matching between the supersymmetric approach in terms of Seifert fibering operators and the 3d TQFT approach based on topological surgery in the infrared Chern-Simons theory $\widetilde G_k$, including through the identification of subtle counterterms that relate the two approaches. We then extend this discussion to the case where the Chern-Simons theory $G_k$ can be obtained from $\widetilde G_k$ by the condensation of abelian anyons which are bosonic. Along the way, we revisit the 3d $A$-model formalism by emphasising its 2d TQFT underpinning.

• Three-loop soft anomalous dimensions for top-quark processes

  I present results for soft anomalous dimensions through three loops for several processes involving the production of top quarks. In particular, I discuss single-top and top-pair production. I also present some numerical results for double-differential distributions in $t{\bar t}$ production through approximate N$^3$LO.

• Superstring amplitudes meet surfaceology

  We reformulate tree-level amplitudes in open superstring theory (type-I) in terms of stringy Tr$(\phi^3)$ amplitudes with various kinematical shifts in the "curve-integral" formulation: while the bosonic-string amplitude with $n$ pairs of "scaffolding" scalars comes from a particularly simple shift of the Tr$(\phi^3)$ one (corresponding to $n$ length-$2$ cycles), the analogous superstring amplitude requires "correction" terms given by bosonic-string amplitudes with longer, even-length "cycles", which are also Tr$(\phi^3)$ ones at shifted kinematics dictated by the cycles; in total it is expressed as a sum of $(2n-3)!!$ shifted amplitudes originated from the expansion of a reduced Pfaffian. Upon taking $n$ scaffolding residues, this leads to a new formula of the $n$-gluon superstring amplitude, which is manifestly symmetric in $n-1$ legs, as a gauge-invariant combination of mixed bosonic string amplitudes with gluons and scalars, which come from length-$2$ cycles and longer ones respectively (the total sum is associated with the expansion a $n× n$ symmetrical determinant); the corresponding prefactors are nested commutators of $2n$-gon kinematical variables, which nicely become traces of field-strengths for those legs corresponding to scalars in the mixed amplitudes. These interesting linear combinations of bosonic string amplitudes must guarantee the cancellation of tachyon poles and $F^3$ vertices etc., and they give new relations between the superstring amplitude and its bosonic-string building blocks to all orders in the $\alpha'$ expansion (the first order gives a new formula for gluon amplitudes with a single $F^3$ insertion in terms of Yang-Mills-scalar amplitudes). We provide both the worldsheet and "curve-integral" derivations, and discuss applications to heterotic and type II cases.

• Simultaneous Extraction of Unpolarized PDFs and Nuclear Effects

  We present a new global QCD analysis of unpolarized parton distribution functions (PDFs) and nuclear effects including for the first time data from the SeaQuest and MARATHON experiments in addition to high-energy weak-boson-production data from the Tevatron and Large Hadron Collider. Simultaneously extracting the PDFs and nuclear effects, we examine the impact of the SeaQuest and MARATHON data on the light-quark sea asymmetry and the EMC ratios of deuterium, helium, and tritium.

• Functional renormalization group approach for signal detection

  This review paper utilizes renormalization group techniques for signal detection in nearly continuous positive spectra. We emphasize the universal aspects of the analogue field-theory approach. The primary objective is to present an extended self-consistent construction of the analogue effective field-theory framework for data, which can be interpreted as a maximum entropy model. In particular, we leverage universality arguments to justify the $\mathbb{Z}_2$ symmetry of the classical action, highlighting the existence of both a large-scale (local) regime and a small-scale (nonlocal) regime. Secondly, in relation to noise models, we observe the universal relationship between phase transitions and symmetry breaking near the detection threshold. Finally, we address the challenge of defining the covariance matrix for tensor-like data. Based on the cutting graph prescription, we note the superiority of definitions that rely on complete graphs of large size for data analysis.

• NLO collinear factorization of large mass diphoton photoproduction amplitude

  We calculate large mass diphoton exclusive photoproduction in the framework of collinear QCD factorization at next to leading order in {\alpha}s and at leading twist. Collinear divergences of the coefficient function are absorbed by the evolution of the generalized parton distributions (GPDs). This result enlarges the existing factorization proofs to 2 -> 3 processes, opening new reactions to a trustable extraction of GPDs.
