Opportunities for inclusive diffraction at EIC

The possibilities for inclusive diffraction in the Electron Ion Collider, EIC, in the US, are analyzed. We find that thanks to the excellent forward proton tagging, the EIC will be able to access a wider kinematical range of longitudinal momentum fraction and momentum transfer of the leading proton than at HERA. This opens up the possibility to measure subleading diffractive exchanges. The extended $t$-range would allow the precise extraction of 4-dimensional reduced cross section in diffraction. In addition, the varying beam energy setups at the EIC would allow for precise measurements of the longitudinal diffractive structure function.
On Möbius gyrogroup and Möbius gyrovector space

Gyrogroups are new algebraic structures that appeared in 1988 in the study of Einstein's velocity addition in the special relativity theory. These new algebraic structures were studied intensively by Abraham Ungar. The first gyrogroup that was considered into account is the unit ball of Euclidean space $\mathbb{R}^3$ endowed with Einstein's velocity addition. The second geometric example of a gyrogroup is the complex unit disk $\mathbb{D}$={z ∈ $\mathbb{C}: |z|<1$}. To construct a gyrogroup structure on $\mathbb{D}$, we choose two elements $z_1, z_2 ∈ \mathbb{D}$ and define the Möbius addition by $z_1\oplus z_2 = \frac{z_1+z_2}{1+\bar{z_1}z_2}$. Then $(\mathbb{D},\oplus)$ is a gyrocommutative gyrogroup. If we define $r \odot x$ $=$ $\frac{(1+|x|)^r - (1-|x|)^r}{(1+|x|)^r + (1-|x|)^r}\frac{x}{|x|}$, where $x ∈ \mathbb{D}$ and $r ∈ \mathbb{R}$, then $(\mathbb{D},\oplus,\odot)$ will be a real gyrovector space. This paper aims to survey the main properties of these Möbius gyrogroup and Möbius gyrovector space.
New perspectives in gravity-mediated supersymmetry breaking

New solutions in supersymmetry breaking through gravity mediation have been recently discovered. Such solutions have interesting properties regarding renormalisation and introduce new contributions in the scalar potential that may help to resolve some issues of the Standard Model. The purpose of this article is to investigate the consequences of these new structures. We construct a model related to these new solutions, the S2MSSM, and present some preliminary results on the effects of these new contributions, especially on the Standard Model's Higgs boson mass.
Hard exclusive $\pi^{+}n$ electro production beam spin asymmetries off the proton in the GPD and TDA regimes

Hard exclusive $\pi^{+}$n electro-production can be used to gain access to the 3D nucleon structure. The QCD factorisation mechanism in the "nearly forward region" ($t/Q^{2}$ small) allows a description by Generalized Parton Distributions (GPDs), while for the "nearly backward" kinematic region ($u/Q^{2}$ small) a description based on nucleon to pion transitions (TDAs) is available. The paper presents a measurement of single beam spin asymmetries to extract the $A^{\sin\phi}_{LU}$ moments and the related cross section ratio $\sigma_{LT^\prime}/\sigma_{0}$ from the hard exclusive $\pi^{+}$ channel off the unpolarized hydrogen target in a wide range of kinematics based on data taken with the CLAS spectrometer at Jefferson Lab. In addition, under forward angles a detailed multidimensional study will be presented based on CLAS12 data and compared to theoretical predictions.
Linking ladder operators for the Rosen-Morse and Pöschl-Teller systems

An analysis of the realizations of the ladder operators for the Rosen-Morse and Pöschl-Teller quantum systems is carried out. The failure of the algebraic method of construction in the general Rosen-Morse case is exposed and explained. We present the reduction of a recently obtained set of $(2n ± 1)$-th-order Rosen-Morse ladder operators to the usual first-order realization for the Pöschl-Teller case known in the literature.
Generalized Heisenberg-Weyl groups and Hermite functions

A generalisation of Euclidean and pseudo-Euclidean groups is presented, where the Weyl-Heisenberg groups, well known in quantum mechanics, are involved. A new family of groups is obtained including all the above-mentioned groups as subgroups. Symmetries, like self-similarity and invariance with respect to the orientation of the axes, are properly included in the structure of this new family of groups. Generalized Hermite functions on multidimensional spaces, which serve as orthogonal bases of Hilbert spaces supporting unitary irreducible representations of these new groups, are introduced.
Renormalizable extension of the Abelian Higgs-Kibble model with a dim.6 derivative operator

We present a new approach to the consistent subtraction of a non power-counting renormalizable extension of the Abelian Higgs-Kibble (HK) model supplemented by a dim. 6 derivative-dependent operator controlled by the parameter $z$. A field-theoretic representation of the physical Higgs scalar by a gauge-invariant variable is used in order to formulate the theory by exploiting a novel differential equation, controlling the dependence of the quantized theory on $z$. These results pave the way to the consistent subtraction by a finite number of physical parameters of some non-power-counting renormalizable models possibly of direct relevance to the study of the Higgs potential at the LHC.
$tW$ and $tZ'$ production at hadron colliders

We present theoretical results with soft-gluon corrections for two separate processes: (1) the production of a single top quark in association with a $W$ boson in the Standard Model; and (2) the production of a single top quark in association with a heavy $Z'$ boson in new physics models with or without anomalous couplings. We show that the higher-order corrections from soft-gluon emission are dominant for a wide range of collider energies. Results are shown for the total cross sections and top-quark transverse-momentum and rapidity distributions for $tW$ and $tZ'$ production at LHC and future collider energies up to 100 TeV. The uncertainties from scale dependence and parton distribution functions are also analyzed.
$\mathcal{O}(α_s^3)$ corrections to semileptonic $b \to c$ decays in the heavy daughter approximation

We present our recent calculation of the third order corrections to the semileptonic $b \to c$ and the muon decays. The calculation has been performed in an expansion around the limit $m_c \sim m_b$, but shows decent convergence even for $m_c=0$ from which the contribution to the muon decay can be extracted. For the semileptonic $b \to c$ decay we find large perturbative corrections in the on-shell scheme which can be significantly reduced by changing to the kinetic scheme for the bottom quark mass. These results are important input for the inclusive determination of $|V_{cb}|$ and the Fermi coupling constant $G_F$.
