• Multi-particle production in proton-nucleus collisions in the Color Glass Condensate

  We compute multi-gluon production in the Color Glass Condensate approach in dilute-dense collisions, p$A$. We include the contributions that are leading in the overlap area of the collision but keep all orders in the expansion in the number of colors. We use a form of the Lipatov vertices that leads to the Wigner function approach for the projectile previously employed, that we generalise to take into account quantum correlations in the projectile wave function. We compute four gluon correlations and we find that the second order four particle cumulant is negative, so a sensible second Fourier azimuthal coefficient can be defined.

• Impact of uncertainties of unbound 10Li on the ground state of two-neutron halo 11Li

  Recently, the energy spectrum of 10Li was measured upto 4.6 MeV, via one-neutron transfer reaction d(9Li, p)10Li. Considering the ambiguities on the 10Li continuum spectrum with reference to new data, we report the con guration mixing in the ground state of the two-neutron halo nucleus 11Li for two different choices of the 9Li+n potential. For the present study, we employ a three-body (core+n+n) structure model developed for describing the two-neutron halo system by explicit coupling of unbound continuum states of the subsystem (core+n), and discuss the two-neutron correlations in the ground state of 11Li.

• Ultra-high energy neutrinos searches with the Pierre Auger Observatory

  In the EeV range, neutrinos are expected to be produced by ultra-high energy cosmic rays interactions with the Cosmic Microwave Background during propagation in the Universe. We report on the search for ultra-high energy neutrinos in data collected with the Surface Detector of the Pierre Auger Observatory. The searches are most efficient in the zenith angle range from 60 degrees to 95 degrees with tau neutrinos skimming in the Earth playingdominant role. The present non-detection of UHE neutrinos in the Pierre Auger Observatory excludes the most optimistic scenarios of neutrino production in terms of UHE cosmic rays chemical composition and cosmological evolution of the acceleration sites. We also report on the searches for neutrinos in coincidence with the recent Gravitational Wave events detected by LIGO/Virgo.

• Logarithmic corrections for jet production at the LHC

  Several important processes and analyses at the LHC are sensitive to higher-order perturbative corrections beyond what can currently be calculated at fixed order. One important class of logarithmic corrections are those which appear when the centre-of-mass energy of a QCD collision is much larger than the transverse momenta of the observed jets. We describe the High Energy Jets (HEJ) framework, which includes the dominant high-energy logarithms to provide all-order predictions for several LHC processes including Higgs, $W$, or $Z$ boson production in association with jets. We will summarise some recent developments, in particular the first matching of HEJ to a NLO calculation.

• Loop equations for generalised eigenvalue models

  We derive the loop equation for the 1-matrix model with generic difference-type measure for eigenvalues and develop a recursive algebraic framework for solving it to an arbitrary order in the coupling constant in and beyond the planar approximation. The planar limit is solved exactly for a one-parametric family of models and in the general case at strong coupling. The Wilson loop in the $\mathcal{N}=2^*$ super-Yang-Mills theory and the Hoppe model are used to illustrate our methods.

• Many bounded versions of undecidable problems are NP-hard

  Several physically inspired problems have been proven undecidable; examples are the spectral gap problem and the membership problem for quantum correlations. Most of these results rely on reductions from a handful of undecidable problems, such as the halting problem, the tiling problem, the Post correspondence problem or the matrix mortality problem. All these problems have a common property: they have an NP-hard bounded version. This work establishes a relation between undecidable unbounded problems and their bounded NP-hard versions. Specifically, we show that NP-hardness of a bounded version follows easily from the reduction of the unbounded problems. This leads to new and simpler proofs of the NP-hardness of bounded version of the Post correspondence problem, the matrix mortality problem, the positivity of matrix product operators, the reachability problem, the tiling problem, and the ground state energy problem. This work sheds light on the intractability of problems in theoretical physics and on the computational consequences of bounding a parameter.

• Importance of the X-ray edge singularity for the detection of relic neutrinos in the PTOLEMY project

  Direct detection of relic neutrinos in a beta-decay experiment is an ambitious goal that has long been beyond the reach of available technology. One of the most challenging practical difficulties for such an experiment is managing a large amount of radioactive material without compromising the energy resolution required to distinguish useful events from the substantial beta-decay background. The PTOLEMY project offers an innovative solution to this problem by depositing radioactive material on graphene. While this approach is expected to address the main challenge, it introduces new issues due to the proximity of the beta decayers to a solid-state system. In this work, we focus on the effect of the shakeup of the graphene electron system caused by a beta-decay event. We calculate the distortion of the relic neutrino peaks resulting from this shakeup, analyze the impact of the distortion on the visibility of neutrino capture events, and discuss potential technological solutions to enhance the visibility of these events.

• Intermittency analysis in relativistic heavy-ion collisions

  Local density fluctuations near the QCD critical point can be probed by an intermittency analysis of power-law behavior on scaled factorial moments in relativistic heavy-ion collisions. We study the second-order scaled factorial moment in Au + Au collisions at $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}$ = 7.7-200 GeV from the UrQMD model. Since the background subtraction and efficiency correction are two important aspects in this measurement, we propose a cumulative variable method to remove background contribution and a cell-by-cell method for efficiency correction in the intermittency analysis.

• A new method to extract the valence transversity distributions

  A new method is suggested for the extraction of $u$-quark and $d$-quark transversity distributions, using single spin asymmetry (SSA) data in semi-inclusive deep inelastic scattering (SIDIS) processes, where they couple to the Collins or the di-hadron fragmentation functions. We discuss a recent suggestion to extract the transversity distribution using the concept of difference asymmetries and their ratios, which avoids the requirement of Collins function. We suggest new measurements, involving ratios of polarized cross-sections, that would directly probe the ratio $h_1^{d_v}/h_1^{u_v}$. We also show some numerical estimates.

• Interpolating between the gauge and Schrödinger pictures of quantum dynamics

  Although spatial locality is explicit in the Heisenberg picture of quantum dynamics, spatial locality is not explicit in the Schrödinger picture equations of motion. The gauge picture is a modification of Schrödinger's picture such that locality is explicit in the equations of motion. In order to achieve this explicit locality, the gauge picture utilizes (1) a distinct wavefunction associated with each patch of space, and (2) time-dependent unitary connections to relate the Hilbert spaces associated with nearby patches. In this work, we show that by adding an additional spatially-local term to the gauge picture equations of motion, we can effectively interpolate between the gauge and Schrödinger pictures, such that when this additional term has a large coefficient, all of the gauge picture wavefunctions approach the Schrödginer picture wavefunction (and the connections approach the identity).
