• On the discrepancy between the FOPT and CIPT approaches for hadronic tau spectral function moments

  The discrepancy between the FOPT and CIPT approaches for hadronic tau spectral function moments constitutes the major theoretical uncertainty for strong coupling determinations from tau decay data. We show that the discrepancy can be analytically understood since the Borel representations -- which have been assumed to be identical for both approaches previously -- differ in the presence of IR renormalons. This implies that the OPE condensate corrections are different for both approaches and that the discrepancy may eventually be reconciled. In the talk we explain the difference and some mathematical aspects of the FOPT and CIPT Borel representations and show numerical results.

• Subnucleon fluctuations in coherent and incoherent ultra-peripheral AA collisions at LHC and RHIC with the Sartre event generator

  Sartre has been extensively used for describing photon-nuclei processes at the electron-ion collider (EIC) as well as ultra-peripheral collisions (UPC) at LHC and RHIC. Sartre is an event generator which implements the dipole model for DIS, and models the transverse geometry of the target nucleus or proton in coordinate space. It uses the Good-Walker mechanism for simulating fluctuations which contribute to the incoherent cross section for which the target breaks up after the interaction. With improved precision of UPC measurements in the last years, a detailed test of the dipole model has become possible, and Sartre's model was found lacking. In these proceedings we add subnucleon fluctuations to the nucleus and show that this is sufficient for describing the vast majority of the present measurements. We also find that for larger momentum transfers in the nucleus, which probes gluon fluctuations at higher resolution, the current complexity of the model may not suffice. Future measurements at the LHC, RHIC and especially the EIC has the potential to reveal these gluon vacuum fluctuations and glean novel insights into the self-interacting quantum field of QCD.

• Clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo method for long-range interacting systems

  Simulating long-range interacting systems is a challenging task due to its computational complexity that the computational effort for each local update is of order $\mathcal{O}(N)$, where $N$ is the size of the system. In this work, we introduce the clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo method, an efficient technique for simulating long-range interacting quantum systems. The method is developed by generalizing the clock Monte Carlo method for classical systems [Phys. Rev. E 99 010105 (2019)] to the path-integral representation of long-range interacting quantum systems, with some specific treatments for quantum cases and a few significant technical improvements in general. We first explain how the clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo method is implemented to reduce the computational overhead from $\mathcal{O}(N)$ to $\mathcal{O}(1)$. In particular, the core ingredients, including the concepts of bound probabilities and bound rejection events, the recursive sampling procedure, and the fast algorithms for sampling an extensive set of discrete and small probabilities, are elaborated. Next, we show how the clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo method can be flexibly implemented in various update strategies, like the Metropolis and worm-type algorithms. Finally, we demonstrate the high efficiency of the clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo algorithms using examples of three typical long-range interacting quantum systems, including the transverse field Ising model with long-range $z$-$z$ interaction, the extended Bose-Hubbard model with long-range density-density interactions, and the XXZ Heisenberg model with long-range spin interactions. We expect that the clock factorized quantum Monte Carlo method would find broad applications in statistical and condensed-matter physics.

• Generalizations of Kitaev’s honeycomb model from braided fusion categories

  Fusion surface models, as introduced by Inamura and Ohmori, extend the concept of anyon chains to 2+1 dimensions, taking fusion 2-categories as their input. In this work, we construct and analyze fusion surface models on the honeycomb lattice built from braided fusion 1-categories. These models preserve mutually commuting plaquette operators and anomalous 1-form symmetries. Their Hamiltonian is chosen to mimic the structure of Kitaev's honeycomb model, which is unitarily equivalent to the Ising fusion surface model. In the anisotropic limit, where one coupling constant is dominant, the fusion surface models reduce to Levin-Wen string-nets. In the isotropic limit, they are described by weakly coupled anyon chains and are likely to realize chiral topological order. We focus on three specific examples: (i) Kitaev's honeycomb model with a perturbation breaking time-reversal symmetry that realizes chiral Ising topological order, (ii) a $\mathbb{Z}_N$ generalization proposed by Barkeshli et al., which potentially realizes chiral parafermion topological order, and (iii) a novel Fibonacci honeycomb model featuring a non-invertible 1-form symmetry.

• Internal Levin-Wen models

  Levin--Wen models are a class of two-dimensional lattice spin models with a Hamiltonian that is a sum of commuting projectors, which describe topological phases of matter related to Drinfeld centres. We generalise this construction to lattice systems internal to a topological phase described by an arbitrary modular fusion category $\mathcal{C}$. The lattice system is defined in terms of an orbifold datum $\mathbb{A}$ in $\mathcal{C}$, from which we construct a state space and a commuting-projector Hamiltonian $H_{\mathbb{A}}$ acting on it. The topological phase of the degenerate ground states of $H_{\mathbb{A}}$ is characterised by a modular fusion category $\mathcal{C}_\mathbb{A}$ defined directly in terms of $\mathbb{A}$. By choosing different $\mathbb{A}$'s for a fixed $\mathcal{C}$, one obtains precisely all phases which are Witt-equivalent to $\mathcal{C}$. As special cases we recover the Kitaev and the Levin--Wen lattice models from instances of orbifold data in the trivial modular fusion category of vector spaces, as well as phases obtained by anyon condensation in a given phase $\mathcal{C}$.

• TASEPy: A Python-based package to iteratively solve the inhomogeneous exclusion process

  The totally asymmetric simple exclusion process (TASEP) is a paradigmatic lattice model for one-dimensional particle transport subject to excluded-volume interactions. Solving the inhomogeneous TASEP in which particles' hopping rate vary across the lattice is a long-standing problem. In recent years, a power series approximation (PSA) has been developed to tackle this problem, however no computer algorithm currently exists that implements this approximation. This paper addresses this issue by providing a Python-based package TASEPy that finds the steady state solution of the inhomogeneous TASEP for any set of hopping rates using the PSA truncated at a user-defined order.

• Entanglement in the full state vector of boson sampling

  The full state vector of boson sampling is generated by passing $S$ single photons through beam splitters of $M$ modes. We express the initial Fock state in terms of 2$^{S-1}$ generalized coherent states, making possible the exact application of the unitary evolution. Due to the favorable polynomial scaling of numerical effort in $M$, we can investigate Rényi entanglement entropies for moderate particle and huge mode numbers. We find symmetric Page curves with a maximum entropy at equal partition, which is almost independent on Rényi index. Furthermore, the maximum entropy as a function of mode index saturates for $M\geq S^2$ in the collision-free subspace case. The asymptotic value of the entropy increases linearly with $S$. In addition, we show that the build-up of the entanglement leads to a cusp in the asymmetric entanglement curve. Maximum entanglement is reached well before the mode population is distributed over the whole system.

  The complexity of quantum many-body problems scales exponentially with the size of the system, rendering any finite-size scaling analysis a formidable challenge. This is particularly true for methods based on the full representation of the wave function, where one simply accepts the enormous Hilbert space dimensions and performs linear algebra operations, e.g., for finding the ground state of the Hamiltonian. If the system satisfies an underlying symmetry where an operator with a degenerate spectrum commutes with the Hamiltonian, it can be block-diagonalized, thus reducing the complexity at the expense of additional bookkeeping. At the most basic level required for Krylov space techniques (like the Lanczos algorithm), it is necessary to implement a matrix-vector product of a block of the Hamiltonian with arbitrary block-wavefunctions, potentially without holding the Hamiltonian block in memory. An efficient implementation of this operation requires the calculation of the position of an arbitrary basis vector in the canonical ordering of the basis of the block. We present here an elegant and powerful, multi-dimensional approach to this problem for the $U(1)$ symmetry appearing in problems with particle number conservation. Our divide-and-conquer algorithm uses multiple subsystems and hence generalizes previous approaches to make them scalable. In addition to the theoretical presentation of our algorithm, we provide DanceQ, a flexible and modern – header only – C++20 implementation to manipulate, enumerate, and map to its index any basis state in a given particle number sector as open source software under https://DanceQ.gitlab.io/danceq.

  The aim of the Muon g − 2 Experiment at Fermilab (E989) is to measure the muon anomalous magnetic moment (aμ) with a relative precision of 140 parts- per-billion (ppb). This precision, which is a factor of four improvement from the current experimental result, will allow for a much more stringent test of the Standard Model. This paper present the current status of the experimental measurement of aμ after the first physics run.

• Master integrals contributing to two-loop leading colour QCD helicity amplitudes for top-quark pair production in the gluon fusion channel

  We discuss the analytic structure of the master integrals relevant for computing the com- plete set of leading-colour analytic helicity amplitudes for top-quark pair production via gluon fusion at two loops in QCD. This includes corrections due to massive fermion loops which give rise to integrals involving elliptic curves. We also elaborate on the structure of singularities that play an important role in the numerical evaluation of the iterated integrals and their analytic continuation.
